Jan. 4, 2008 - Our Year's Beginning

Happy New Year!

We've had great first few days of 2008.

New Year's Day we had lots of late sleepers - making up for seeing the new year arrive.

We had a nice lunch at my folks enjoying my family's traditional new years day meal - cabbage rolls, side dish of cabbage, yellow rice (with a dime in it to see who gets it), and, of course, black eyed peas.  We also enjoyed visiting more with my brother, his wife, and their two boys & baby girl.  My girls sure love their cousins!

We also enjoyed lots of college football!  (Well - my honey and I enjoyed the college football; my girls are looking forward to the end of the season.)

Wed. my honey was back to work as normal and the girls and I visited some sweet homeschool friends of ours.  We always have such fun with them and come away blessed by our time together.  It's amazing how busy our two week Christmas "vacation" has been - and that it's coming so quickly to an end!

Yesterday was a busy day - my youngest had a check up which included shots.   Not fun!  She was a bit happier that we got to have lunch with her daddy at a restaurant of her choice.  What a fun treat.  We then spent much of the day running errands.  A great end of the day was getting to have dinner with some friends of ours who moved last summer.  They were coming through town on their way home from their Christmas vacation.  We hadn't seen them since they moved and their daughter and our second are very good friends.  (We really enjoy the entire family.)  So it was a great treat.

Today we have an errand to run and then I hope that we'll enjoy our last day of no seatwork by trying some sewing and playing games.  (I'm not much of a seamstress but the girls want to learn to sew - luckily they'll think that doing it wrong a couple times to figure out the right way to do it is all part of it and hopefully not get frustrated.  I'm sure their skills will pass mine in no time.  My oldest is, I'm sure, past me skill wise already.)

I'll try to get some pictures up for you sometime soon.  Just wanted to catch you up on our happenings. :)

In His love.
