Apr. 16, 2008 - Life Throws You Curves - God is good! :)
Just in case any of you are still peeking in on the blog - sorry for the long silence. Life's been a bit crazy.
Our house was hit by a tornado. (There have been so many across the country this year.)
We are all fine - praise the Lord. He's been so active through the tornado and afterward. We had 3 friends who were supposed to spend the night with us, so they got to ride through the tornado with us. God protected us - we were in the hallway and it was the other side of the house that took the hit. God's been with us in the aftermath too. The outpouring of love and help from our friends, our family, our church, our homeschool community, and even folks we don't know was amazing. We've seen great opportunities to witness and have seen God showing Himself to people through this. Overall, it's been an amazing experience.
Meanwhile, we're out of our house for a few months - I call it a tornado remodel.
It'll be great when we get back in; so much will be new and updated, with a few little improvements made here and there. We're in a rental house while our house is being fixed and it's nice. It's smaller than home so we stored some of our things and love living without all the clutter. I really hope that we can be ruthless and get rid of some of what's in storage. (This gives us a chance to know what we miss and what we don't really need.)
Anyway, that's why we haven't posted in a couple months. Like I said, God is good. We've all seen Him working mightily and I love that the kids have seen Him working in our lives - a life lesson that I would go through again in a heartbeat to have the reality of God working on our behalf written on my kids' hearts.
