Forgive Me!

Okay, I have to first ask forgiveness.  My true desire is to actually have a blog! And how ironic is it that it's been EXACTLY three months (to the day!) since I wrote.  There's a saying that keeps going off in my ear.  "You can't quit something you never really started"  Okay, so I'm doing it for real this time!!!!!!!    Have I done much with it?  No!  For the first time in quite a while I've actually been getting more than 4 hours of sleep per night (thanks to my littlest little man!)  See......he was NOT my best sleeping baby, which is quite alright because those early morning snuggles in the rocker I will treasure forever, however it left me feeling much like a zombie at times. LOL  So here we go.  I'm going to get this thing going for real.  Now, whether I actually write every day, I don't know.  But I am committing myself to at least 3 days a week.

Well, as stated previously I love Mondays because I feel like I've been given a new opportunity.  A fresh start. I have a lot to do but I'm a very optimistic person and always start out thinking I can do it all, even if I don't even come close!  It is unbelievably cold here in GA right now.  For you northerners I know you would probably laugh at our 20-something degrees at night, but to us that is COLD!  I didn't want to get out of my warm, flannel sheets this morning, but duty calls.

All my Christmas decorations are up (except outside, maybe today the kids can help me) and we are all enjoying them so much.  If it were left up to them we would look like the Griswolds outside.  I have to be careful stating that, we actually have some friends with that last name :o)  I mean the Griswolds from the movie, National Lampoon's Christmas Vacation.    And it doesn't help that some neighbors down the street a bit have a yard that looks just like that.  So right now that is all the talk.  I did come up with a rather cool idea.  I pitched it to the kids.  And they seemed to dig it.  It went something like this,

Kids:  "Mom, when can we decorate our yard like that?"

Mom:  "Well, let me ask you a question."

Kids:  "Okay"

Mom:  "Would you rather have yard decorations or Christmas presents?"

Kids:  (with no hesitation of course) "Presents!"  "Okay, we get it."

Mom:  "But how about this idea?  After Christmas when every store around marks all their decorations down next to nothing we buy some and start adding to our collection?  Because not too many people just go out and spend boo-coos of money at one time and fill up their yard the first year."

Kids:  "Yeah, Mom!  That's smart and cool!"

Whew!  Off the hook again.  "Thank you Lord for wisdom.   And Lord, please let there be really good deals on decorations after Christmas.  :o)"

Until next time...........

Yay! It's Monday

YaY!  It's Monday, I love Mondays!   I actually enjoy the start of a new week.  New opportunities, a fresh start.  We "officially" started school last Tuesday 9/2 and so far are doing well.  The kids are loving their new curriculum, and so is Mama!

I'm VERY new to this blogging thing, hoping no one will read it or stumble upon it just yet! LOL, I'm just getting my feet wet :o)  But, I'm more doing it as a record for us.  A journal, if you will, to reflect back on.  And it's just for fun....I try not to take myself too seriously.

I am so thankful, as I am every day.  My heart is so full.  My hubby is now gone off to work and slaying the dragons, and I miss him.  The kids are so sweet, even after all these years they still ask "will Daddy be home in the morning?".  I think deep down they're just hoping I'll say yes.  Daddy's give things that Mommy's just "ain't" got!  (God designed it that way, thankfully.  Whew!)  Yesterday afternoon I was getting ready to go to a "Lady's thing"/get-together  and as I walked out to the van I was being commissioned over by the "creek"  (aka huge drainage ditch, but creek to the kids!).  "Mom, Mom!  Hurry, and come see what Daddy made for us!"   My husband being the manly man that he is (more history on Adam later)  orchestrated this totally awesome rope/metal bar swing for the kids to swing over and around the creek, with a 100lb weight limit of course.  NO PARENTS ALLOWED!  Wade, my oldest is totally into it and Evalyn is not so sure yet.  Of course I'm excited and proud and "yippety-yippety", but mostly proud of my husband.  You see, he is still a kid at heart.  And that makes for a wonderful Daddy!  He knows just how to have a good time with the kids and still keep them in line.  ALL the kids from ALL around love "Uncle Adam".   I praise the Lord for Him every day.  I'm thankful that He is hardworking, faithful, steadfast, fearless and loving.  He's not afraid to lead, and knows when to be led.  I could go on and on with words that describe my man.  Is he perfect?  Nope, and neither am I!  But we've always said we were perfect for each other!

I am so blessed!  And in turn that makes me want to bless even more!

Its a New Day!

I have been blessed over and over again by the many homeschooling moms who are willing to share their lives, experiences, wisdom and hearts with the rest of us.  I feel it is my duty to share what's on my heart.  So I pray this is a blessing to anyone who is willing to read or listen.  The fun has begun! :o)
