Sep. 16, 2008 - Powerful testimony
God is so good:
This past Sunday, a cigarette lighter (had been packed away in a box for a few years and then placed on a shelf in our garage) exploded
and caught on fire. This happened less than 30 minutes after I got home from church. I am so thankful to God because I got up that morning
praying about where to go to church and the ones that "I" wanted to go to would've let out of church far later than the time I got out of church
on Sunday. And my husband was at church way over in Greensboro.
I remember God moving so powerfully in service and even remember being led by the Holy Spirit to pray in a prayer language and feeling God's presence.
Normally, I would pull into the garage, close the garage door and go in and take a nap. But, it just happened that one of my neighbors who I don't see
often was out and we were talking for less than 10 minutes and she said she saw someone run into my house. I walked down there and this man told me there was
a fire in my garage. I calmly said, "I have a fire extinguisher in the house." And he told me not to stand there to go and get the fire extinguisher. I got the
extinguisher and my keys because the flame was less than arms reach of the side where the gas tank is located on my car. To show you God's awesomeness of power
there was a can of lighter fluid on the shelf under where the flame was and a can of paint stripper that was stored next to several cans of paint. All beside my car.
My neigbor said he heard a pop and saw smoke, none of which I was even aware of. He was outside working on his yard and heard everything. We found out it must've been the
lighter and I read about the BIC lighters exploding and some of which have been fatal. But God has truly shown me HIS hand and divine protection to my
family.
I've shared that I know GOD as a healer and a provider but that day I knew him as a PROTECTOR
God deserves all the GLORY and HONOR for the works and power of the Holy Spirit that gives divine instructions
for the safety and well-being. And we have to obey.
Be blessed.
