My daughter has been working on a new blog template for me - www.homeschoolblogger.com/ourquiverfull.   At one point there were several different items on my sidebar - a form to sign up for email updates (via iContact), an HSB blogger award, a "Pray for the Children" button, etc.  Very recently she went to make some changes to the template.  She took the above listed items off the sidebar with the intention of putting them back, but they now appear at the bottom of the "edit template" page.  I don't mean that the code is there - those items are literally visible below the "edit template box."

Now we cannot add anything to the sidebar unless we add it above the "pray for Noah" button.  If we put code in for something to appear below that button, the item will not show up.  If we put the code above the button, it works, but I want the "pray for Noah" button to be above some of this stuff.

Any ideas???

We can email the code to someone if they need to see it.

Blessings,
Kate

It because text areas (the box with the HTML code under the 'Pray for Noah' button) mess up blog templates....i don't know why but it just does...you can remove that and put something like "Comment for the code."

Kate,

Looking at this line of code in your template:

<center><textarea><center><a href="http://www.homeschoolblogger.com/ourquiverfull" title="Please Pray For Noah."><img border="0" alt="" src="http://www.homeschoolblogger.com/uploads/j/jkestes/122123.jpg?t=1238691375" /></a></center>

You need to add a close tag for the textarea, so, near the end of the line of code, place "</textarea>" (no quotes) right before the "</center>" tag.

Use your "preview changes" button to make sure it looks right before you hit Save!  If you did it correctly,  you should see the "last page/next page" text appear under your Noah link.

Unfortunately "textarea" tags **really** do not work very well within our current engine. You're better off removing the textarea tag and just using a styled div, as future attempts to edit the template could cause you to completely lose everything after the textarea tag. Sad
