is from The Well Trained Mind, a book I use as a guide for focusing our studies.  In a traditional Montessori classroom you have Botany, Chemistry, and Physics materials side by side.  I prefer not to manage everything at once for only a few children! 

We have enjoyed this four year cycle and will continue using it.  The connection between science and history was fun to see, especially as we studied the inventions of the modern era in physics and history. 

Year one: Biology (Animals, Plants, Human Body)
Year two: Earth Science, Weather, Astronomy
Year three: Chemistry
Year four: Physics

We'll be looking at habitat as well as the animals of each continent during our summer geography unit.  Biology will be up again in September.
