When It Rains.....

When I started this blog, I said, "I want my blog to be joyful and up-lifting."
Yet it seems so many of my entries lately have been 'downers'
Well, I'm sorry to say I have to add another one to the list......

We just got back from the allergy specialist.......
Annabelle has been breaking out in hives all week, and we have been going nuts trying to figure out what they were from. We know that she is allergic to peanuts, but we are VERY strict about reading lables, and are fairly certain that she has not come into contact or eaten any of those.
So After a trip to the allergist we have discovered that Annie is allergic to .........MILK!

I guess we had better get ready for a BIG life change!
Annabelle is an extremely picky eater. There are very few foods that she eats....and most of them are dairy!   The allergist said that she is to avoid all milk products for a year!

.....and ironically enough.....
When we left the allergist's office, the first thing Annabelle said when we got in the car was,
"Can I have a milkshake now?!"
(That has always been our standard 'treat' when the kids have been good at the doctor's office....)

That stinks. When I was about 4 the doctor took me off milk for a month because of stomach issues, he thought I might be allergic. After that my mom just was careful to not give me a lot at a time and I've always been fine. Even now I LOVE milk! So hopefullly she will grow out of it!

Oh no that is going to be tough on her : (
My daughter is extremely picky and if I were to eliminate her favorites she would probably waste away. I'll keep her in my prayers that she transition into her new diet limitations relatively smoothly.
