A Series?Posted at 9:04 AM on Mar. 26, 2008
Hmm, the last few months I've been feeling stronger and stronger that the Lord is calling me into missions and/or ministry of some kind. Missions is one of the most important responsiblities that Christians and the church has today. About 2 billion people have never even HEARD the name of Christ much less have the chance to accept Him into their lives. There aren't enough workers out there right now to evagelize everyone. God's heart beats for people, He longs for them to know Him and have a relationship with them. The more you seek God's heart and reach it and learn what makes His heart come alive you'll see it's people. The people of the earth, they're all His children they've been captured by sin and held hostage. We have the truth, if you saw a person getting ready to take a drink of poison and you knew it, wouldn't you scream and run and chase them down and strive with all your might to stop an impending tragedy? It's easy to say sometimes, oh, it's so overwhelming! So many people are going to hell. Well, all we have to do is sit back and not do anything and yes people will go to hell. They're already on their way. Every Christ follower is called to share the good news. I know that doesn't always mean being a foreign missionary but maybe it does. It's not fair to those people to expect to live a safe comfortable life at their eternal expense. We get so busy argueing theology and making sure our point is made that we forget that first and foremost we are called to make disciples of all people.(matthew 29:19-20) We have so much here in our country, we have so many bibles any version you want!, a whole christian music industry, churches on every corner, devotionals, huge youth ministries, ect ect. And yes, i know the American church is flawed and isn't perfect but the point is that we have so much here. So much truth. With much privilege comes much responsiblity. Think far back way way back beyond the starting of our country, before Europe was sectioned into countries, how do you think we came to know about Christ? Missionaries! The early church sent out workers to evangelize the 'barbarians'(aka. most of our ancestors!). They taught the tribal people about the Lord and that spread all over the continent and the work they started flourishes to this day in you and I. People are dieing everyday, without even the chance to say yes or no to Jesus. "Then he said to his disciples, the harvest is plentiful but the workers are few." Matthew 9:37 Pray and ask the Lord to show you what you can do. Maybe He has called you to work in a foreign field or with a people that haven't heard of him. Maybe he's called you to continue a work that has been started but still needs advancement. Our God is a God of missions, His heart beats for the people of the world. Our brothers and sisters in darkness. Will you feed me?
Will you give me hope?
Will you tell me about Jesus? Who will take up the torch and go?
I am going to start a series about woman missionaries. God has used men, couples, and single women missionaries in furthering His kingdom. I am going to focus on some of the women missionaries and their work. AdultnessPosted at 8:43 PM on Mar. 19, 2008
Well, I am back, I just haven't had a spare moment to stop and write a good long blog. It turned out a family we've been friends with for years came down here to spend spring break with us. So I haven't had tons of spare time to write and keep up with the internet. But I did have a very nice 18th birthday, nothing spectacular, just five girlfriends and I going out to Chili's for lunch. The waiter brought us a free chocolate volcano cake and sang Happy Birthday to me.Then the next day my family all went out for chinese food and celebrated all of our March birthdays. So I am 18....what does that mean? The government says it means that I am now an adult and a full citizen with rights and responsiblities. Eeck, it can be confusing and rather daunting. What am I supposed to do now? The trip to Mexico was fabulous as always. Except for the first two days I was quite sick for various reasons. One being I always get altitude sickness and Saltillo is up in the mountains. But we got to go so many places and do so many things. Eat lots of yummy food. We went to the beautiful massive cathedral in Monterrey(btw I LOVE that city, so classy and historic) and I got to pray a little in the gorgeous high ceiled sanctuary. We once again got churros, mmmmm! And walked through the centro of Saltillo, the plaza. We went to Cola de Caballo, Horsetail Falls, Prettiful waterfalls. And got to interact with some believers, on the whole the Mexican people are very kind hospitable people. So much fun getting ot know them. Well,I have more to say but that's all the time I have. Vamos!Posted at 7:25 AM on Mar. 11, 2008
Hey,ya'll I am off to Mexico for about four days so that means I won't be around to post or comment. I'll be back Friday but Saturday is my 18th birthday so I am probably not going to post till Sunday. Hopefully by then I'll have something interesting to tell you about!

I'd buy you Rogaine when you lose your hairPosted at 11:59 AM on Mar. 8, 2008
I've been so busy! Last week I started a house cleaning job for another homeschooling family with six kids. I still work everyday in the campus cafeteria. And I am taking Spanish here at the school. But I am done with all my high school work except math so school hasn't been so crushing. I am studying the driver's manual so I can finalllllly get my license. Hold on, the phone's ringing......
Okay, I am back. Some girls wanted to go the beach, but I don't feel like it today. It's gonna be 75ish today at the coast, just a little too chilly for me. I am excited, I am graduating in may. My homeschool co-op is all graduating together. There are about 12 of us. SO if you need somewhere to go in May come down to South Texas, all of you are invited!heheh So we've been running around, ordering invitations and gowns and I got my senior pictures done. Lately I've feeling so stagnant in my walk with the Lord. I want to keep growing, not stay comfortable. In the rush of choosing colleges, working, and all sorts of things that aren't bad but distracting I feel like I've been ignoring Him, I was sharing with a friend. and she told me she's been feeling the same way. Stuck, not growing. So we and a couple of other friends are starting to come together to just pray and build each other up, study the Word, and try to push forward in our relationships with Christ. Nothing stuffy or 'super spiritual', we're just hungry! It's weird, HSB just exists on the Internet, it's not a real place or anything like that. But I've actually missed it! I guess I miss the community and my friends that I've made on here.I don't miss the slowness and little quirks this site has in abundance but I can see over all that cuz I love you people! Echo echo!Posted at 4:32 PM on Mar. 6, 2008
I am so tired! Hi ya'll! Long time no see, de verdas? I am thinking about maybe starting blogging back up. It's kinda fun and I kinda miss it. We'll see if I can juggle everything and still do it. This was a short little entry. I'll work on another big one. But in the mean time, I'm backish! The EndPosted at 9:27 PM on Oct. 28, 2007
Well, this is the end. At least for a while. I have been so overwhelmed with life lately I can't keep everything juggled. I have been feeling that I've been spending too much time with the comp. The thing you spend the most time is the thing you love above everything else, ya know? So I am trying to simpilfy life. Maybe I'll be back sometime in the near or far future. I'll still be checking things out here and doing pm's. If you want to keep in touch with me, pm me for my e-mail address, number, ect. Thanks for the great times and it was awesome meeting some amazing people on here. I honestly feel like some of you have been like sisters(and brothers!) to me. I love you guys so much. I talk to you soon! <- Last Page | Next Page -> |
