Free To Be

• Mar. 20, 2007 - A New Washing Machine

I think I like my new washing machine, but even better my daughter loves it!  Our old one spent months making loud noises and finally started spilling water on the floor.  I was not about to pay another $500 for a new drum for this monstrosity, so I just used it until it was totally dead.  On Saturday, lovable hubby spent hours running to Lowes (several times due to their errors) and installing a new high-tech front loading washer and dryer just for me.  I'm not sure it's a love gift, just a tool, but that man loves his tools.

Now my daughter is running to the laundry every time she heards the bells ring.  I hardly have to lift a finger when it comes to laundry the last few days.  I'm sure she will tire of the chore soon, but I am enjoying it while it lasts!

Now if I could get her, or big brother for that matter, to love cleaning the kitchen just as much I'd be in heaven!

Our washing machine died a few weeks ago- same symptoms as yours- and we got a new one. However, no one in this house has been the least bit excited about it or lining up to do laundry. Enjoy your help while it lasts.

Great to have help eh? And how wonderful to get the nice front end loader. I have been eyeing them for quite some time, but it will probably be some time before I'm so lucky.

Thank you for your encouraging comment on my blog. It is nice to hear of others successes. I've been worried about this, I don't have much extra school time as I'm teaching 6 and will eventually be teaching 8. Oh well, with all of the helpful advice I'm sure we'll get through. As you said, Megan is very smart, and has unending confidence up to this point. I don't want her to lose that. She is also my most adventurous child, always ready to try something new. Thanks again!

Our washer died about a week ago, too! We ended up with a new GE...just a basic machine. I'm jealous of yours! LOL!
Thanks for commenting on my blog about Katie's apron. She's proud of her accomplishment. I hope it'll spur her on to make more projects!
