First of all, we want to say THANK YOU to all you wonderful people who voted for us . It was SO much fun! The polls right now say that we came in first, but we haven't heard who has won "officially" . They still need to make sure all the votes were fair and "legal". Hopefully sometime today we will find out who the official winners are : )
And now, for the pictures! About a month or two ago, we bought 30+ yards of the same material Cassia's giveaway was made out of---we just loved it so much! Late Saturday night, we finished the last of them, and once again, our wonderful photographer, Mommy, took some pictures for us!
All along the fence...
We all decided to try a "twirling picture" : )
Bekah with the kitten : )
Bekah trying to keep the kitty warm .
All of us trying to keep warm, in between pictures...or so we thought!
Noah and Isaiah know what their sisters' skirts are for!
A jumping picture...we laughed and laughed when we were looking at the 5 or so jumping pictures we had taken! They were all so funny, but this one is the best one!
Charissa and Bekah, peeking out the barn window!
Anna, Bekah, and Charissa : D
All of the farmgirls, peeking out of the barn door : )
I was just looking at the list of Nominees and realized I have had a really disconnected year with all my knee surgeries, rehab and stuff. Seems I don't recognise any of the nominees in any given catagory. Who I am so out of touch! Either that, or you all have been changing your blog names on me. LOL How strange it all is to me. Do you know who these fellow homeschoolers are? I sure hope they have as much fun as we did.
Congratulations all you nominees. I plan on doing some visiting to get to know you. (o:
When I was a little girl, I used to listen to these Bible story tapes all the time! Once I came to Mommy, puzzled over something I had heard on one of the tapes.
In the story of Baby Jesus, Herod is telling his soldiers, "Double your efforts! Go! Go! GO!!!" But in my little girl mind, I thought he was saying "Double your rabbits! Go! Go! Go!"
So...
I am asking you all to
"Double your efforts! Go, go, go!!!"
Go and vote! The race is so close, and the voting ends tomorrow at midnight!!!
Tell your family, your friends, your enemies!
If you'd like to vote, go HERE and vote for "Seven Sisters"....we'd all be so very much obliged!!!

"Relic Quest" by Robert Cornuke
This book is about his adventures in looking for the lost Ark of the Covenant, plus locating the real Mt. Sinai. It is especially neat because it is written from a Christian perspective. He also writes about being skeptical of the Bible's account of Noah's ark and other stories. He eventually came to use the Bible as his guidebook when on these expeditions, and found so many neat things! I highly recommend this book! ~Jessica
Also by Robert Cornuke, about his search for Noah's Ark : ) I've just started reading this one, but it looks like it should be just as good as "Relic Quest" : )
"Jennifer and Jim kept getting huge water bills. They knew beyond a
doubt that the bills weren't representative of their actual usage. But
no matter how they tried to conserve, the high bills continued. Although
they could see nothing wrong, they had everything checked for leaks or
problems: first the water meter, then outdoor pipes, indoor pipes,
underground pipes, faucets, toilets, washer, ice maker, etc. -all to no
avail.
One day Jim w as sick and stayed home in bed, but kept hearing water
running downstairs. He finally tore himself from his sick bed to
investigate, and stumbled onto the cause of such high water bills.
Apparently this was happening all day long when they were not at home.
Knowing that few would believe him, he taped a segment of the problem'
for posterity."

Our grandpa was on the USS Macon during the St. Lawrence Seaway Cruise on July 30, 1959 It was the first time a war ship had been on the Great Lakes since the Civil War.
While we don't know if he is in any of these pictures, it is neat to see pictures of the ship he was on, during the time he was on it!

Cute Quotes
Noah: "Leah, I just threw the apple for my ree-hee-ree to get it, and Isaiah just took it." (His ree-hee-hee is a horse).
Anna was telling mommy about how they were very close to running into a deer on the way to or from somewhere, and Noah asked, "Anna, are you telling the truth or no?" ....which, she was by the way

The boys birthdays are always extra special for me. Yep I said me, probably more so then for the birthday boy. It's a day I spend reflecting on the day of their birth, my pregnancy with them and how they are growing. Am I making each day count, am I taking every opportunity to show them how far and wide the love I have for them flows.
Do I take the small moments to create lasting memories. Birthdays are always joyful with a tinge of sadness; they are growing up too fast. My time with them feels like sand slipping through my hands, it runs out fast.
Today is Ashton's 5th Birthday, he is my tiniest boy weighing 5 lbs less than his younger Brother Noah (2). He is my feistiest and funniest of the 4. He is precious in every way if I do say so myself! :-)
We had an early Birthday party on Sunday so that Troy could celebrate with us. Today we had our Birthday breakfast with Ashton's favorite... cinnamon rolls and hot cocoa! :-)
These sewing caddies are what I made six people last year for Christmas....of course I can't show you what I am making this year. :-) So I chose this:
I designed these (since all the patterns I found were not what I wanted) to set under a sewing machine and hang down in front off the table so everything you need for sewing is handy and right there. They are designed to hold tape measures, scissors, needles, thread, marking pencils, and seam rippers--and they are even personalized!!
Several pockets to hold your sewing notions:
The bias-tape gives it a neat and finished look:
You will need:
1/2 yard of main fabric
15 inches of fleece
one package of bias-tape and
a bit of contrasting fabric.
What to do:
Step 1:
Cut two 15" X 15" pieces of fabric, plus, one 15" X 15" piece of fleece.
Step 2:
Cut one 9" X 15" piece of contrasting piece of fabric.
Step 3:
Fold the contrasting piece in half, lengthwise, and baste right sides together on the sides and bottom close to the edge onto one of the 15" X 15" pieces (with the fleece piece behind it on the wrong side).
Step 4:
Sew pockets. (Scissor pocket is optional.) I sewed (from left to right) two 3-1/2 inch, one 2 inch, one 1-1/2 inch, one 3/4 inch, one 1-1/4 inch, and one 2-3/4 inch pockets.
Step 5:
Stich the name (of whoever it is going to belong to) 2 inches above the pockets.
Step 6:
Place and pin the back on, wrong sides together. Sew bias-tape on around all edges, making sure you catch in all of the raw edges.

A couple days ago, I was making cookies! I was scooping out the dough with an ice cream scooper. Then I had an idea to put several scoops in an ice cream cup...with a paper cherry on top...I teased Cassia about it and said, "Cassia, do you want ice cream with a cherry or no cherry?"
