May. 10, 2009 - Spring!

Spring! Mother's Day! Spent most of the evenings this weekend trying to install new watering system to the raised beds. It is not hard, but you have to have the right stuff. And sometimes the right stuff is at a store 12 miles away. and you don't know you need it until you are half way through installing what you do have. Or does this only happen to us?:)  But we did get new filters installed on the evaporative cooler so that is ready to go- yea!
Yesterday had a lovely tea with church ladies ... the theme was small world and the tables all represented a different country. That was fun!
Here's hoping the garden grows like the weeds do! heeheehee

Mar. 28, 2009 - Spring

Everything is big at our house. Big dogs...big weeds...my dh is big time sick. I have a big goat who could have a baby or 2 anytime. I am hoping we don't have a big tax bill. but we do have the BIG one true God. have been memorizing some of Ephesians...big encouragement.

Feb. 25, 2009 -

Thinking about next year! Lord willing...We are set to cover US History for the next two years. Loving our almost spring weather :) I know it will chill up again but enjoying what we have.  Have heated the house with wood this year...we can afford wood. Propane was out of this world for us. So, off goes the house heater. Have tomato sets up with 4 to 6 leaves. Put them in a greenhouse today. Hope they do well. Looking for early tomatoes. :) Planning on doubling at least the size of the garden this year. Hopefully the water holds out here in CA...looking grim. But I know the Master Gardener. So we plant and pray. Hope to have 3 goats in milk also. May have to graze them more this year which flavors the milk unfavorably to my taste but at least it is palatable- cheese again! and ice cream and yogurt! I am so looking forward to summer time garden feasts.
Any one use the cozy Cottage grammar?

Feb. 12, 2009 - February

It snowed again! Cool! twice in one winter which has got to be some kind of record for our area! I know some of you are laughing at me :) It gets so muddy here when it rains that I prefer the snow while it is here..and frozen mud to slushy mud! Anyhow, am a bit anxious about my oldest girl. She is at that stage of "what will I do with my life"  That lesson of God's timing not mine and trusting Him to know while we are finding out. :) Enjoying our February. Life is much slower this month. Have gotten in many hours of knitting and crocheting. fun! Crocheted my first cardigan -based on a pattern for a bathrobe. Will try to get dd1 to take picture and post for me. I am hopeless as a techy...
