From Tiny to Teen

Christmas Morning

Christmas Morning started bright and early today.  The kids loved their presents!  We loved watching their excitement.  My mom got some time off and drove up to be with us and we all loved having her here.

Chloe got a pink guitar.  It's by First Act.  It was pretty hard to get tuned and slips easily, but she's not about to give it up.  She thinks she's a rock star now.  It will never be quiet in this house again.  (Like it ever is anyway).

Caibry got a skate board.  This is a pretty big deal since last year we were told he should not try potentially dangerous things like skateboarding because his S.P.D. could raise the risks.  He is ready now and he loves it.  I hope he enjoyed skateing on the wood floors because it will NEVER happen again.

Nevie got roller skates.  She loves them!  She has begged for them ever since she saw a pair at her friend's house.  We got her a helmet, but didn't bother with elbow pads and knee pads.  She's Nevie after all.  She's the kind of kid who could hurt heself wrapped in bubble wrap in a rubber room.  We've given up trying to protect her.  She proved the point by refusing to wear her pajama bottoms with her skates.  Hey . . .at least she's happy.

Presents?  Who needs presents?  All Sadie needed was a plate full of yummy food.  I think she out ate everyone!  Our tub will never be the same though.  Sadie got dolls and loved being mommy to them.

Each of the girls got quilts from my Grandma.  I LOVE them!  Finally the room has a uniform look while still reflecting their diferences.

This is Sadie's Quilt.  Her border was pink.  Grandma made a pink pillowcase for her too.  I love that it isn't crib size.  It's big enough to grow with her.

Nevie's border was purple.

Chloe's border and pillowcase are yellow and they match her picture board perfect.  Chloe collects missionary cards on her picture boar and prays for them every night.  She's called to be a missionary to India when she grows up.

The quilts look beautiful and their room is so adorable now.  I Love it.

Well, I'm gonna skidaddle for now.  I don't want to miss any more of Chloe's Christmas concert.  I have front row tickets.

Merry Christmas!!

About Me

If you can name all of the characters on Sesame Street, name all of the Jonas Brothers, and can read text faster than most teenagers we have something in common. If you teach a child with speech problems, Sensory Processing Disorder, or a teenager who needs a little extra tlc then you are not alone. I'm wadeing through the new and sometimes wild waters of homeschooling. I'll be honest, sometimes I feel like I'm just treading water. It's gonna be worth it though. I'll be a happy and willing tool in their learning and the world will be blessed by what they become. Welcome to my journal. These are just the ideas, thoughts and feelings of a very tired homeschooler.
