Convicted to Complete

Talking to a wall...

That is what I feel like I am doing when talking with some Christians.  I am still struggling with how they justify having their children in public schools and how they feel that their children are being salt and light.  If you share thoughts on how children aren't meant to be salt and light but we as adults are, they will justify it and give you as many reasons as possible why it is ok for their kids to be a part of a system that fights our Saviour at every turn.

I have a hard time saying "nothing" when I hear all these excuses and rationalizing.  Let me just say that I am not always very "politically correct".  Am I really expected to just agree with them and applaud their choice?  I expect it from non-believers, but unless Christian America wakes up, we ought to fear where we will be headed as a nation.  Our churches are missing it and the Christian family is suffering.  We as a nation are in need of revival, real revival!

I totally agree!! It makes me think of an analogy of pottery clay before it is put through the kiln. The kids are like the soft clay, which haven't yet been cured by the fire. I wouldn't want to put coffee in a cup with still soft clay...Yikes! The handle might come off while I'm holding it or it might end up in as big, heaping pile of blob. That's my analogy of sending Christian kids into the schools to be salt and light. We need a movement where Christian adults go into "missionary" work as public school teachers.

You got through to me-- and I'm sure many others. You just never know what seeds you're planting-- So fight the good fight! ,,,And about being politically correct... you are very correct-- teehee-- just not according to the run amuck, loud mouth socialists... and as my dh says so well, "Compromise? Why would I want to be half right?"

Our kids aren't prepared enough at a young age to try to minister to their peers.....But I think the Lord really has to speak to the families about how to educate, if we convince someone then they will look to us if they feel like failures, or even if they feel successful at it. They need to be able to turn to Him for all their strength and answers.

Great topic!
Thanks for visiting my blog :)

I'm right there with you! Since I began homeschooling, I've found more and more reasons to keep away from the public school system!

Anyway, thanks for visiting my blog. I think this will be my 7th year at CHEA. Can't wait!

Blessings
