I have been crucified with Christ and I no longer live, but Christ in me. The life I live in the body, I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave himself for me. I do not set aside the grace of God, for if righteousness could be gained through the law, Christ died for nothing!

Aug. 25, 2007~ Am I back??? ~
Whew! I did not think that this summer would be so full! We have had company for the last 6 weeks solid, some even overlapping. We enjoyed every minute! So this last week was spent catching up on some much needed rest, dr. appt.s, and cleaning house...which is still not done. I do not know about others but when I have company I do not clean like normal, I just pick up enough that my home does not fall apart and we do not trip as we make our way to bed at night!
I have completely gutted my school room and reorganized as well as weeded through things. I have an entire box of give aways, more than 3 huge boxes of trash...where does it all come from???...and I am sure more stuff than I need.
We went and picked up school supplies. That is always a treat for our family. New scissors (because the old ones always jump ship sometime during the year), new crayons ( though we have a ton of old ones there is nothing like new ones to start your year out- even for 16 year olds!), new pencils ( this is the only time they get to pick out really fun ones- the rest of the year it is plain old yellow #2), colored pencils, glue, paper, notebooks and the blessed planners. This year my 2 oldest girls got to pick out and fill in their own student planners. This way they can add all their outside commitments also-like worship practice and babysitting. My 12 year old got his first one now that he is entering Jr. High... Our dear sweet 9 year old has to wait still...I am not sure he would ever be able to find his anyway!
We also got some really neat tools. One is an rotary trimmer. I got extra blades for it so now we can use it to cut with, perforate and score. This will be great for lapbooking. I picked mine up at Staples. I like going there because I use my rewards card and end up with a check for about $6 each quarter to use on copies or whatever.
I have spent many hours on the computer finalizing the plans for this years schooling. I have spent so much time scrolling I am starting to feel car sick! I decided to use a great free tool called Homeschool Tracker . The basic edition is free and seems to be just what I need.
I will post our school's schedule in another blog since it would make this one about a mile long and I would be sure to lose all your interests! Blessing to all of you! Lori
I love to begin the new school year with new supplies, it's so much fun. I have heard of that H. Curriculum, have been to their site and thougt it was nice, never used it.
I am a wife to a man who can do everything (Lovingly referred to as MacGyver), mom of 10 (1 married in, 1 almost married in and one adopted in) and a Nana to 4.
I am all about growing in Christ, family, handcrafts and the art of homemaking. My newest passion is knitting.
We live on a small homestead in NE Washington. Raising pigs, chickens and goats, growing a garden and revamping an older home.
