Tempations or ?

Okay I have a dilema. We had no tv for almost 6 years ,regular tv for almost 6mo. now and now I want cable I am tired of fighting with my antenna. I know that tv is a huge distraction for everyone in my home sometimes I think they are all under a spell when the tv is on(my dh included), and the negetive influence is huge.

 I don't watch much and I only get chanel 7 which means a lot of homosexual content  in regular programing it seems is on every show or explicit sexuallity. 

I like the old shows,sci-fi and movies in the 1800 century this is the reason why I even want tv. Don't get me wrong we are a huge movie watching household.

I have a small home so there isn't enough chores to keep us busy and my 3 older boys are busy.  I have no vehical right now and sometimes I am just bored so I surf the net and watch tv and  I go through spell of reading.

Help me. If you hadn't had tv for a long period of time and when you turned it on even just the basics  and there was so much neg influence what would you do? 

I'm so so so confused...I think I'll just start praying about this.

Let me first say we do have tv's in our house, and we do have a satellite dish, so we have lots of stations (most not watched). I don't want you to think we have none. But, I think if we ever could get ourselves off of tv to the point that we had none for 6 years, I'm not sure we would go back. Well, lets say, I hope I wouldn't go back. But it is completely a personal choice. Maybe you and your husband could pray about, and see where He leads you. I hope things work out for you. :)

We've gone through times where we've had no TV usually for 6mo or a year at a time. Right now we have Dish network. There are lots of good shows on and we can skip comericals (sp?) but now I wish we didn't have it. It just takes up so much of our time! Now I want to get rid of it and we have an 18 mo contract. I have to wait till January.
