Character Training
After my last post I had to make some changes in my home and with my boys. We have a huge Character deficiency around here and it has gotten out of control. I was reading a blog and at this point I can only say I think it was Tiany's blog (she always has awesome links to share) and stumbled upon an awesome bloggers site , needless to say I fell under conviction.
I brag often on raising 5 awesome young men of God to lead their familes in the way of the Lord and here I am not instilling in my children Godly Character that is pleasing to Him so ,therefore, I am making changes to our focus in our school day. I am absolutely going to post this chart in my control journal. Because being aware is key.
Character Training and Life Skills will be the focus for awhile, what good is it to know how to read, write, learn all these things and still have no Godly character seeing as that is where our destiny is...with God. I have a hard time believing He is going to ask us "So how much do you know?" I think it all goes hand in hand, together in educating our loved ones.
I am on this journey with my kids and I want them to have Character and be examples to others around them. I know that with Jesus by my side He helps me to guide them in ways pleasing to Him.
Thank you to all you moms who commented on the above post, I know I am not alone and it is a struggle we all face. Be encouraged as you all have encouraged me.
Blessings to all.

I know the hardest issue for me when I'm truly focusing on character training in my kids, is that most character traits that need to be worked on usually have been picked up by me. :( So their training, truly becomes my training, and showing grace and mercy to them (with training included) because I see it in myself. I pray your's is smooth and progresses well. :)

I am learning what it means to seek first His Kingdom and His Righteousness and then all the other things are added..... when we work on character, the results in academics is so evident. Blessings to you :-)

Oh yes, the character building part of my homeschool. It often seems that we work out one problem when another one pops up for us to deal with - there is never a dull moment. Isn't is great that God is faithful and will give us what we need to deal with the children he has entrusted to us?

How's it going? Just wondering since you haven't blogged in a while.
