Blessed/Plants
I am blessed beyond measure
. As I have joined HSB I have gotten so many good ideas
from you moms out there that I have seen a change in my boys(mainly on the topic of school in the summer). There attitudes
on getting the work done so we can play has changed for the better
. My oldest son has a friend who told me when she was in school as she mastered different things in class her teacher would keep a star chart ( addition facts, subtraction facts ,sight words and for my kids Alphabet recognition)
I was in awe(Thank you ,Jesus), I had never even thought of that so this morning I made a few charts so the boys could see what they have learned since the beginning of the year a what they still were working on and what they will be focusing on. They love the charts full of color and they can pick their own style of stickers to mark off what they have mastered. I love their excitement now
.
Thank you all so much may each of you be blessed.
Now on another note my birthday was yesterday and my oldest boy and his friend(I pray my future daughter-in-law)bought me a beautiful Trailing Snapdragon hanging basket . I just love it ,however, I am not the best with plants. When it says to fertilize the plant every 2 weeks what do I use? and is it simple to do?

Small Pleasures
I thank God for small pleasures.
We bought one of the new pools they have out($50.00), a small 8ft.x30in. and boy my kids and the neighbor kids are overjoyed( I'll post picture later). I am finally able to have the kids in my yard playing outside instead of always at the neighbors house jumpin. It is nice to give back to these people the kindness they show my children throughout the year.(When you live in a mobile home community you know your neighbors well.)
So anyways the kids are playing in the coldest water ever and shakin but they're not letting that keep them out. I love to see them have a ball getting wet.
Our washer broke down spitting out oil of all things (so if any of you have a answer for this problem please help a sister out), we can't afford to buy another one right now but anyway ,I have a cousin lives 2 doors down and she lets me barrow her machine even when there not home(God Bless her) I don't know what I'd do without her and her husband. Not to mention we lost our only vehical and are waiting to move to Mississippi for some work all in the Lord timing. Gods word says that He shall supplly all our needs according to His riches and glory so I'm waiting.
Gotta a lot going on . Just thought I would ramble.

Calling ALL Prayer Warriors
My mom has been battling breast cancer for 4 years now and has done well. This past year in Nov. she started becoming dizzy and lighthead and the Doc. ordered a MRI. the test came back tumors in the brain.
She has been under constant care and over the past few days now has blood clots one tiiiin the lung and a few small ones in her legs, please pray for her recovery that the clots will dissolve quickly. She has a negative disposition about her when it comes to her heath due to the constant cancer pop ups in her history but she truly needs some positive reenforcements.
Pray if you have ever been sick, pray if you have a mom, pray if you pray, pls. pray.
May God Bless all those who sacrifice time to pray for someone they don't know or will ever see.

Refreshing
Today I was surfin' and came across a young woman's (IloveyouGod) blog on clothing. I was so impressed by her views on modesty. I am a mom of 5 wonderful boys and it is constant worry if they find a godly woman in there future, especially after going to the mall or taking the kids to a pool (unbelieveable but sometime just walking down the street as well).
If you are raising young woman today I pray that the Lord lead you to teach them while they are young and instill modesty in there hearts as pleasing to the Lord.
One day I'll post my testimony on here and you'll understand God's amazing love for someone like me. There really are second chances and you become a hsing mom(who'd ever thunk it).
May God Richly Bless.

A Better Day
I am so thankful for all you hsing moms and your blogs.
Today went so smoothe and actually got the work done. Both my ds today didn't put up much a fuss about their work but it isn't always that way.
A typical day for us starts with "Mom just a little today right?" I get frustrated before I can get to the kitchen.
I am not consistant in where we do our work so moving back at the table is a great move towards structure for us and the kids know exactly what to do.
The summer isn't going to be relaxing we are moving to Mississippi soon I just don't know when
. Michigan has been rough on jobs for my dh and we desperatly need a change. Plus the fact I must hs all year until next summer,we took the winter off so I could work
I hope to hear from you ladies on your thoughts on structured hsing. Should I be a little flexable and comfortable or sit at the table?

Independance
My ds of all but 6 years of age is so dependant on me for every problem in every math problem, to the point that he thought that when I said problem we started to have them (problems that is).
I have read and tried everything I know to do that I am becoming frustrated everytime we sit together . Please if there is an answer out there that will help my poor dependant one please feel free to share.
You know what is really funny my ds of 8 years of age actually thinks he was put here on this planet to help me learn cuz apperantly he has obtained all knowledge....it's completely crazy that they are so opposite for each other , complete maddness at times.
I know this year hasn't been much fun for the boys (being our first one) I wanted to establish the structure we need for our family which at times is difficult beacuse my dh is a midnighter. I do plan to join some type of hsing support group soon and maybe 4-H I'm not sure yet.
Pls. pray for me.

Newbie
I am a new homeschooler this year. I began this new journey in January and it has been quite the challange. I have 2 boys (5 in all ) that I school at the kitchen table and I enjoy every moment... even the trials.
I am married to a wonderful man of God who is talented(thank God) beyond my understanding. He is totally blessed in that area of his life for sure.

My boys Myles and Nate are such awesome little men and they have such awesome character. Myles right now is writing his very first comic and that to me is quite impressive and lil' Nate man is still stuck by my side finding himself.
