I'm now a T-Tapp affiliate! So, if you'd like to order anything from the T-Tapp website, please click on the banner on the right side of my blog page. It won't cost you any extra! Here's a tip. There is a place at the T-Tapp store called "Super Closeouts" where you can find some great deals. Also ordering the book new from Amazon is cheaper, but many times if you order it from T-Tapp, you get a free DVD workout, too!
I'm happy to share that I reached my size goal! I'm back in my pre-pregnancy clothes! And I've only exercised 15 minutes a day, and not always every day! But, here is the mystery--I weigh 10 pounds more than I did last time! Is it all muscle? I guess so!
I have now been T-Tapping for 3 1/2 months and have lost a total of 18 inches! I'm am so excited that I have finally found an exercise program that I look forward to doing and actually miss it when I don't exercise. It takes me about 20 minutes a day, only 4 square feet of space, no jumping around, and I still get stretching, strength-building, and aerobic exercise. At first I tried to do it every day; now I do the Basic Plus routine (and Organs in Place/ Half Frogs --I know, funny names!) about every other day.
I've signed up to be an affiliate. But in the meantime, check out the website where there is a "try before you buy" section. Try it out! See if it works for you, too! Then, come back here and buy through my affiliate link, please! I also recommend buying the book. It gives so much more details into the "whys" and "hows" of these wonderful exercises.
I thought I'd share a bit about how I came to begin doing a new exercise program called T-Tapp. I first heard about it through the MOMYS yahoo group. MOMYS stands for "Mothers of Many Young Siblings" and all the moms there have at least 4 children. Most have many more; one lady said it's the only place where she can say she ONLY has 5 children! Anyway, many of the ladies were doing T-Tapp and seeing wonderful results. Here is a blog of one lady, who shares some great tips: http://www.homeschoolblogger.com/neveradullmoment/T+Tapp/
So, I got the book from the library and read it and got inspired! I felt like, "I can really do this!" And I have! I have faithfully exercised almost every day since July 8. I've ordered some more videos (VHS since they were on clearance!) and I might try some of the longer workouts. But, for now, I'm sticking with the daily 15-minute Basic Plus workout since I know I can actually fit it into my schedule.
To read my other T-Tapp posts, click on the T Tapp category link at the top of this post. To visit the T-Tapp website, see here. There are quite a few videos that she puts free online so you can "try before you buy." And, here is my Amazon link to buy the book.
Well, I have exercised every single day for the last 4 weeks--except for 2 days! I can't believe it! I am really excited about this program because it's something I can actually do and am very motivated to do.
I have lost 16 3/4 inches (measuring 14 different areas) and one pound in the last 4 weeks. I am not quite down a size, but close. I didn't make any changes in my eating habits for the last 4 weeks.
Now, since I have gotten pretty comfortable with the exercise routine, I'm going to add 2 more exercises (which are included in the DVD that comes with the book), start implementing a few God-made food days, and drinking 64 oz. of water a day. I'm still going to do the 15-minute routine every day (missing only on Sunday if I miss at all).
You've got to try it! Get the book--it's only $12.21 (use my Amazon link, please :) ). If you get it used, make sure it still has the coupon in the back. Then you can use the coupon to get the Basic Plus workout on DVD. Let me know how it goes!
I mentioned a couple of weeks ago that I've decided to try T-Tapp. It's an exercise program developed by Teresa Tapp. I read her book called "Fit and Fabulous in 15 Minutes" and got motivated to give it a try. I put my measurements on the personal measuring chart that she includes in the book and started the exercises the next morning. It was hard to read about the exercises and figure out how to do them correctly. There are many photographs, but it's still hard to see the flow of the movements. And it's impossible to figure out the rhythm or speed. So, I ordered the DVD (15 minute basic workout) and got it a couple of days ago. I found out that I was doing quite a bit incorrectly! Well, maybe not exactly incorrectly, but definitely not to the intensity and speed that she does on the DVD.
However, even with not doing the program as well as I will do now, I still lost 8 1/2 inches!--2 inches off my waist, 2 1/2 inches off my hips, and 1 inch from each of the upper thighs and another inch from each of the lower thighs in 14 days of exercising! I am really shocked, but the numbers don't lie. No, I lost no "numbers" off the scale, but I must have gained muscle to make up for the inches I lost. Oh, and I didn't change my eating habits at all. (Still ate way too many sweets!)
Now, that I know how to do the program correctly, I will continue to do it daily for 2 more weeks and see what happens then. I still hope to be able to fit into my pre-pregnancy clothes soon!
I recommend that if you want to try T-Tapp to get the book as well as the DVD. It will help you do it correctly from the start and you'll see more results. See here to buy the book (or check amazon). In it you'll get a 30% off coupon to be able to buy the DVD called 15 Minute Basic Workout Plus (which might be missing if you get the book used). While at Amazon, check out the video of a sitting workout by Teresa.
I was checking my goals for the year. Some have been reached; some haven't! I gained 60 pounds with my last pregnancy. My baby has just turned 10 months old. I've lost 50 pounds, but the last 10 is hanging on tight! Actually, it would probably be 20 pounds left to lose if I hadn't lost 5 pounds each during two recent illnesses. I feel a bit motivated to get rid of the extra weight in case I get pregnant again (which has always happened between 7 and 14 months).
Recently I heard about an exercise program that I wanted to try called T-Tapp. I checked out Teresa Tapp's book "Fit and Fabulous in 15 Minutes" from the library and read it last weekend during the Fourth of July holiday. I started the "Boot Camp", she calls it, on Wednesday. Today was Day 3. So far, so good.
For the Boot Camp, I am supposed do the 15-minute set of exercises once a day for 14 days. Since I am reading how to do the exercises from the book, it has taken me about 45 minutes to figure out how to do them. A few are online (see here for plies, hoedowns, and t-tapp twist). I decided to order a dvd to make sure I'm doing them correctly.
One thing that makes T-Tapp different is that you are activating far more muscles than in traditional exercise. That makes it possible to get far greater results in far less time. I actually think I can continue exercising now! I will do only 15 minutes a day (even though it's an intense 15 minutes) and get cardio, strength training, and flexibility training. After I'm in shape I can cut down to every other day and then just a couple of times a week. Very doable for this extremely busy, low energy, homeschooling mom of 6 young kids!
I hope to get into my old clothes within 2 weeks or a month and lose a few inches. I might not actually lose any "pounds" on the scale since I'm expecting to be gaining quite a bit of muscle. The number on the scale doesn't matter to me as long as I can wear my old clothes and get toner and stronger and healthier.
After I get good at the 15-minute excercises, I plan to start eating healthier, too. I have already started a high fiber diet (30 grams a day)--I'll post on that next. The T-Tapp eating plan is to make a differentiation between God-Made and Man-Made foods. You should eat God-Made foods only for 2 days and then can eat some Man-Made food every third day. I think this will be very doable for me, too! I don't think it would be very easy for me to completely eliminate donuts, fast food burgers, Oreos, and M & M's!
