Well, not exactly physically, but we will be emotionally and academically!

It just so happens, that in Tommie's Book Report Class, he is required to read the classic novel about a little mischevious boy from China....written in 1931.... "Little Pear," by Eleanor F. Lattimore! Then for my Dynamic Discoveries class, he is required to create and design a resturant of his choice! In order to maximize and mesh two projects into one ---that's right a two in one theme...and to hit this Chinese theme, even more, I suggested he create a Chinese Restaurant...well, he's all for that...since he can serve weird combinations of snake and duck! He's already given his restuarant a name, which is "TOMMY CHOW'S."

Also known as scaly anteaters, pangolins are found on Chinese dinner plates (Photo courtesy National University of Singapore)
I am really thrilled that I can combine two wonderful classes around one rich unit! Nice how this unfolded!
Even better, our good friend Rhonda has sent and given us a gazillion gifts from Shanghai that will work nicely into his presentations... money, chop stix, Chinese New Year decorations and more! Thanks-thanks-thanks.....Rhonda! |
