FIREWORKS IN JANUARY?

WHAT'S NEW?

Okay, I admit, I am struggling here with finding anything worth writing about..one might say we have hit our first winter slump.  Nothing like making you feel uplifted, right?  It's just....that, when you read this blog, don't think, I don't know it sounds boring, I do...really.

WHAT'S NEW?

1.  Had the carpet man come over to measure carpet.  Now, that's exciting...visiting about measurements and padding!  I tried super hard not to stare at his teeth...he's over-done it on the Crest White Strips....I was shocked when Tommie mentioned it at dinner (didn't know he noticed) and also, Tommie thought he had way too much caffine.  I could use a little of this guys energy!

2.  Have only seen one squirrel and one blue jay in my entire yard all week.

3.  Our read-aloud is dull.  Margurite Henry's "First Pony"...it looked like a quick read and I thought we could cross it off our list...I need to get to the library and scan their shelves.  I printed off the Newberry list from 1922 to current and should go with that in my hand.

4.  Made homemade chocolate zucchini (froze from our summer garden) bread.  Had Tommie take a loaf over to our neighbors....our sweet neighbors.

5.  Tommie is wrapping up his lapbook on Little Pear/Asia and his resturant project.   He has two chapter books going on and wanted to read Louis Braille.  Math is going good...test today.  Handwriting is coming along and spelling is frightening.

Okay, well, hows that for fireworks in January?
