Gluten free Friday some helpful lists and tips
Hello gluten free friends. Econobusters does a gluten free Friday some times so I thought I would add too! When I first went GFCF I was scared. I loved to cook and bake was this the end? Silly me going GFCF meant I would be cooking more! At times that can be a drag. Convience is probably the number one reason gluten free people go off diet. So here are some things to help with convience

Here is a list of candies and snacks that are gluten free (not necessarily casein free)

If you are on Twitter there are a handful of interesting gluten free and casien free friends. Type into the search or go to Twellow and look up gluten free.

Oh I am an a snacky kick today. Here is The Official GFCF Diet Website's list of Candy and Non-Dairy Ice Cream

Tips that I have learned....
Get a Ice Cream maker yourself! ALL non dairy icec creams are expensive. You will quickly make the cost of buying it. Right now I have a freeze the bowl variety. It creates a ice rice milk that melt rather easily. I have my eye on an ice cream maker from Sam's that is a freezer/ice cream maker. It makes 4 quarts at a time.

Soy milk is cloying and heavy. Your kids will love the chocolate flavor. BUT carefull that they are not likely it because of an allergy. My Smiley loved Soy milk to the point of screaming and fitting if she did not have a full sippy at all times....Warning Bells.... Tested her for soy allergy, off the charts.

I hope that you have a great Gluten Free Casein Free Friday!!!

QUESTION:  I have wondered about this one for a while and would like your input. Do you think the recent PR / book push by Jenny McCarthy helps or hurts. Does her professional background cast the whole idea of GFCF and vacination schedule changes into the looney fringe?

Jul. 11, 2009 - Good Question

Posted by momma24blessings

I have wondered that myself a few times. I was really with Jenny when I saw her on "The Doctors" until she started getting a little hostile on some points. Then I was kind of like, that's not really the way to get your point across. (Even though I can get that way myself sometimes LOL)

I still came away from watching the show mostly agreeing with Jenny. I think it's ok to be so outspoken when it comes to what we feel is best for our babies, and she obviously cares about her son's recovery. But, for those of us who are trying different things and not seeing many results yet, it can still be discouraging, yet it does give us something to think about.

By the way, I have a surprise for you over on my blog. I hope you visit and see. Here is the direct link to my post: www.homesteadblogger.com/wyldhousehomestead/139152/

God bless you,

Jul. 18, 2009 - dyslexia

Hi Heather. My email program does not cooperate for sending to you through this blog, so I am taking this backdoor way to reach you. I read your interesting article in TOS, and I want to say that 90% of dyslexic children can be cured. See the appendix in my book "A Biblical Home Education." This helps a lot even after children do learn to read as Isabella has.
