Ten Commandments of Our House

Posted in Child Training

You know...after having "one of those days" today, I had to do something a bit creative and on the lighter side so I didn't "crack."     I don't know if my kids will appreciate my "lightness,"  but I had to share our newly written Ten Commandments.    Enjoy...

Ten Commandments

of Our House

I  Thou shalt obey and respect thy
parents as thy God-given authorities.

II  Thou Shalt begin school after breakfast and complete all assignments satisfactorily before thou artdone.

III   Thou shalt complete all thy chores without whining, complaining, or stalling.

IV   Thou shalt remember that playtime, television, video games, friends, and outside activities are all privileges not rights, and in order to be granted these privileges, thou must have all schoolwork and chores completed or these privileges may be revoked even if previously scheduled.

V   Thou shalt treat thy brothers and sisters with love, respect and a servants heart, thinking of them as more worthy than thyself.

VI   Thou shalt do all things as unto the Lord,”whether it be schoolwork, chores, play or worship.

VII   Thou shalt clean up thy own messes and put away all things when thou hast finished using them.

VIII   Thou wilt cheerfully accept added responsibilities should thy help be needed, realizing that thou art
blessing thy family and others in doing so.

IX   Thou shalt understand that attitude begins in the heart regardless of circumstances which mayest affect thee.  Remember the Lord thy God and the response from thee which wouldst please Him the most.

X   If thou shouldst fail to keep any of
the above commandments, thou shalt
submissively accept the consequences of thy
actions, even if thou feelest
they are unfair.
(Referest thou to Commandment IX)

Thanks so much for posting this. I think I'll have to put these on the wall of our school room, though I may tweak them a little for my kids. These are very well stated though.

Blessings,
Missy

I might just print it out and put it in our kitchen. Think I'd add one more that thou shalt eat whatever food is put in front of you and be grateful that God provided it and your mother cooked it or you shall go hungry.
Blessings

About Me

Welcome to my blog...Why "gidget"? Well...my husband tried to teach me how to surf before we were married. I was lousy at it, but he called me his "gidget" and the name stuck. Why "Treasure Trove"? I love sharing about my sweet little "treasures"...and God has blessed me beyond measure....and no, I didn't mean that to rhyme.
