Sunshine-y ~ Books ~ Sick ~ Vacation ~ Dessert

Hello!

As you can see, I changed my blog. I wanted to make my blog look bright and sunshine-y, because most of the time, that what's I feel like. I wanted my blog to make other people happy too. But, alas, I couldn't find a really pretty background that fit my somewhat unclear mental picture of this blog, and I liked the green, pink, and brown theme. So I just went with that.

I'm reading Anne of Green Gables to Nanny and Mary; one chapter each night. Mary falls asleep about halfway through each chapter, but Nanny said she likes it, which makes me glad.  :-)  I'm reading Emma too, but I didn't think Nanny and Mary were quite ready for Jane Austen. :-)  I've seen the Kate Beckinsdale version of Emma three times, I think, and I love it. I also have Northanger Abbey, as well as Wuthering Heights, (I borrowed the three of them from my friend.) So one of those comes next.

Speaking of Nanny and Mary, they were sick to their stomachs the night before last.  :-(  I was too, on Tuesday. That's never fun! Thankfully, I feel fine now, and so do they.

Daddy's vacation ends tomorrow. None of us are looking forward to that!! It's been wonderful having him here with us all day, every day, and I don't want to give him back.

Tonight I'm going to make "Lemon Custard Cakes." Or is it "Lemon Custard Cups"? I don't remember now! Oops. I've never made a custard-type dessert, so I really wanted to try. The fact that this dessert has 161 calories, versus 500-something for the molten chocolate cakes cinched my decision.  :-)  Not that the molten chocolate cakes aren't yummy! I have made those before, and they're delicious. But, anything that fatty must be delicious, right?  *grin*

Ciao,

Rebecca

are the most thoughtful, loving, creative, honest and true girl I know.
You don't put on airs. You don't put on a show. What you see is what you get. Sadly, that is oh so rare today. You and I both know way too many who do those things. I'm so pleased with the young woman you have grown up to be. I miss the little Peanut, but I LOVE the young woman and am really looking forward to seeing you in your role as wife and Mama one day. I know you'll be excellent in both roles.
Some people think they have it all together and put up a good front, but there is no substance behind the facade. You, my dear, are strong and full of that substance!!

Can't wait to try your new dessert!!

I love you!

HI Becca~
Thanks for the comment on my blog. I really am glad that you commented~ because I was thinking that I should totally comment on your blog too.. but I never really got the chance! LOL! Sorry!
Yeah~ i know what you mean about "Mixed Bags", it was so good~ and I liked it alot. I liked DJ too~ and I could really relate to her! And, as for the other girl (for some reason~ her name slipped my mind), I didn't really like her! LOL!

Hi Becca-
I love the Anne of Green Gables books. I've read the series through twice, not to mention all the times I read just a single book. I also was finally able to finish Wuthering Heights. It was really good, after I got through the middle.

Hello! My name is Erica, and I found you off of christianmusician1's blog, and decided to drop by. :)

Lol... my sister has tried to get me to read the Anne of Green Gables series, but I'm not much on reading, so it hasn't happened yet.
I have seen that version of Emma, and loved it! Not as much as the BBC version of Pride and Prejudice, but it was still really good!
As far as Wuthering Heights... I saw one version once, but didn't really like the whole story line.... hence, it's on my list of movies I don't care to watch again. Honestly, I don't even remember what it was about! Lol...

I completely understand about not wanting your Dad to go back to work. My Dad is an industrial electrician, and sometimes he has to work 10 hours a day 6 days a week, so sometimes getting Saturday off seems like a day of vacation! His job is going to end in a couple of weeks, and we're hoping he'll have a week off before the next job starts... we'll see!

You have a great Lord's Day tomorrow! In Christ's Love, Erica

Hey Becca!
Oh, Lake Martin is gorgeous. I just love it down there.

That's so sweet of you to read to your siblings. (Nanny and Mary are your siblings, right?) I've never read Emma. Would you say it's better than Pride and Prejudice? (I don't think it would be, but I am curious since I read P.P. this year...)

How did the Lemon Custard Cakes go?

Love,
Brooke.

P.S. Have you signed up to the new forum for Daughters of Grace?

I think that my favorite one is Anne of the Island. It is soooo good. I've read that one like five times. I seriously need to read the series again though. Just as a refresher.

Yes, I have seen the Pride and Prejudice with Kiera Knightley. And, as a big fan of the BBC version, it was awful. I had thought that you wouldn't be able to ruin such a good storyline, but they did. 'Nuff said. :)

Thankfully, my Dad hasn't had to work on Saturdays for the past month, although they threatened it last week. ;) You never know until Friday wether they want him to work on Saturday, so it's really hard to plan things...
Wow! 3-midnight! That is a really rough schedule!

I'll be praying for your uncle! How did he get hurt??

You have a great day! In Christ, Erica
