Hello!
As you can see, I changed my blog. I wanted to make my blog look bright and sunshine-y, because most of the time, that what's I feel like. I wanted my blog to make other people happy too. But, alas, I couldn't find a really pretty background that fit my somewhat unclear mental picture of this blog, and I liked the green, pink, and brown theme. So I just went with that.
I'm reading Anne of Green Gables to Nanny and Mary; one chapter each night. Mary falls asleep about halfway through each chapter, but Nanny said she likes it, which makes me glad. :-) I'm reading Emma too, but I didn't think Nanny and Mary were quite ready for Jane Austen. :-) I've seen the Kate Beckinsdale version of Emma three times, I think, and I love it. I also have Northanger Abbey, as well as Wuthering Heights, (I borrowed the three of them from my friend.) So one of those comes next.
Speaking of Nanny and Mary, they were sick to their stomachs the night before last. :-( I was too, on Tuesday. That's never fun! Thankfully, I feel fine now, and so do they.
Daddy's vacation ends tomorrow. None of us are looking forward to that!! It's been wonderful having him here with us all day, every day, and I don't want to give him back.
Tonight I'm going to make "Lemon Custard Cakes." Or is it "Lemon Custard Cups"? I don't remember now! Oops. I've never made a custard-type dessert, so I really wanted to try. The fact that this dessert has 161 calories, versus 500-something for the molten chocolate cakes cinched my decision. :-) Not that the molten chocolate cakes aren't yummy! I have made those before, and they're delicious. But, anything that fatty must be delicious, right? *grin*
Ciao,

Saturday, June 28, 2008 - You...
You don't put on airs. You don't put on a show. What you see is what you get. Sadly, that is oh so rare today. You and I both know way too many who do those things. I'm so pleased with the young woman you have grown up to be. I miss the little Peanut, but I LOVE the young woman and am really looking forward to seeing you in your role as wife and Mama one day. I know you'll be excellent in both roles.
Some people think they have it all together and put up a good front, but there is no substance behind the facade. You, my dear, are strong and full of that substance!!
Can't wait to try your new dessert!!
I love you!
