The Winter Of Red Snow

The Winter of Red Snow is a Dear America.  A diary written by Abigail Jane Stewart.  She lived in Valley Forge, Pennsylvania at the point in time General Washington's troops were camped there, in 1777.  this book is about her life and what it felt like to live during the time of the Revolutionary War.  I liked this book an would recommend this book to anyone over the age of nine.

My Father's Hat

Posted in writings

In my father's office, an ancient hat lies on top of an old book shelf.  It is a small, black child's hat.  On the base of the hat, there is a black and brown ribbon held in place by a silver lion pendant.  The rim of the hat is misshapen and the top has a few dents.  From its appearence, it says the child that wore it, loved it.

The Sun

Posted in poetry

The Sun is bright,

It gives us light,

It's a big, big, ball,

Makes us look small,

It's a super star,

We are so far.

Water skies

Posted in poetry

My water skies,

They slip and slide,

They make my smile,

Big and wide,

That wave ripples,

Like a sea calm lake,

The boat's small wake,

Will make it's sound,

And makes our tube,

Look big and round,

Wet to the head,

Wet to the bone,

Makes your head dizzy,

Makes me feel alone,

As the boat swings around,

I look to the ground,

And my mom is there,

waving at me.
