Happy Thanksgiving, everybody!

There are so many things that God has blessed me with this past year, including the change He has made in me. I am most certainly a changed girl, and I thank God for it. There is such a great list of things for me to be thankful for, God, Jesus, my family, friends, my house, the list goes on an on. There are six friends in particular I would like to say thank you to on here.

Jessica, Martha, Tallulah, and Helen, the days I spend with ya'll are some of the best days I can remember! I have such a wonderful time when I'm with you, and I am so so so happy to have true friends like you. Actually, ya'll are more sisters to me than friends. =) Thanks for being there for me whenever I needed you. I have just got a kick out off all the inside jokes we have. I'm glad that we all like to do the same types of things, like playing Boat, watching movies, teasing High School Musical, singing to the top of our lungs together until our moms can't stand it, pretending to be the Wolavers, and so much more!

My Pippin, what a wonderful, encouraging, loving friend you have been to me ever since I've met you! I don't know what it's like to have a big sister, but you and Jessica have been the best big "sisters" I could ask for. You've helped me strengthen my faith so much, even when something bad has happened to you. I can only hope that I have been as good of a little sister to you as you've been a big one to me.
LLT, I've never had a Long Lost Twin before in my whole life until about a year ago. It's been a blessing to know you. Because we are so alike, I can relate to things that have gone with you that are going on with me. You have built me up so much, I can't find the words to say how much you have done for me. Thanks for being there, even when I'm acting rather out of character. =)
God Bless You,
Taylor

2. 9(Susan), 8(Lucy), and 13(Ricky) go out shopping. What do they buy? Um... Susan buys....I don't know, Lucy buys whatever the first thing is that someone tries to sell her, and Ricky wouldn't buy anything.
3. 8(Lucy), 6(Adam), 1(Molly), are talking. What are they talking about? Oh boy, there's some combination. =/ I don't think there is anything they could all talk about together. Well, maybe Adam and Molly could talk about some current event, since they both live around the same time.
4. 5(Pippin) runs a track-and-field race against 10(Mr. Woodcourt). Who wins? How will the loser react? LOLOL! That's funny! Um. Mr. Woodcourt wins, since hobbits can't run fast, and Pippin would not mind that much, I don't think.
5. 3(Samwise) wants to purchase one of 4's(Faramir) crafted items. Which will he/she buy? ........ No clue.
6. If you started a business, who would you hire? 7(Joe) or 2(Osborne)? Osborne, I wouldn't trust Joe.
7. 1(Molly) challenges 6(Adam) to a game of battleship. Does she/he accept? He's accept.

9. 11(Snoopy) invites you over to her house. Do you accept? I would, if Snoopy's dog house were big enough.
10. 12(Violet) wants 4(Faramir) to come with him on an adventure. Does she accept? .....I dunno, that's a strange pair.
11. 2(Osborne) wants to go to the theater, but 13(Ricky) wants to go on vacation. Who will 8(Lucy) side with? Ricky, of course!
12. 9(Susan) is running away from 10(Mr. Woodcourt). Why is she/he running? NO CLUE
13. If you are going through a mountain at night, who would you want for company? 1(Molly) or 6(Adam)? *smile* Adam. =)
14. 3(Sam) wants to go out to dinner with 12(Violet) to a french resturaunt. What does she/he do? Why on earth would he want to do that?
15. 8(Lucy) has just witnessed a battle. What is his/her reaction? She would be FREAKING OUT.
16. Who will 4(Faramir) take on his/her trip to the mountains? 8(Lucy) or 10(Mr. Woodcourt)? Mr. Woodcourt.
17. 10(Mr. Woodcourt) is learning a new language. What is it? ...maybe...wherever he went to when he was on the...ship...thing...
18. 8(Lucy), 9(Susan) and 6(Adam) all go out to a Chinese resturaunt. There is only one box of noodles left. Who gets it? AUGH, Adam's already been in a Chinese resturant in a tag I did! Poor guy, what did he ever do to deserve this? Well anyway, he would let either Lucy or Susan have it, and then...um...not sure from there.
19. 5(Pippin) has to give an extra fun land ticket to 13(Ricky). Does he/she do it? ??
20. 13(Ricky) and 4(Farmir) are fighting. What happens? /=/ *doesn't know how to answer that*
That was fun! Anyone who wants it can use it.
God Bless You,
Taylor
Greetings my HSB bloggers, I have resumed blogging till Monday when we commence school again. School is doing very well. The weather has taken on a gloomy and rainy appearance lately. Why do we celebrate Thanksgiving? In today's society, most would say it's a time to give thanks and they are right to a degree. They have taken the God part of the holiday. Though organizations like the ACLU would deny it, it was the Pilgrims that wanted to give thanks to God for their new home and for their new camaraderie with the indians. What are you thankful for and why? We need to be recollecting our thankfulness and put aside our greedy and selfish attitudes. To God be the glory!! God bless, MCH

It's really no surprise to anyone ever that the NEA was more interested in protecting its power than educating children. What is surprising is that they actually feel confident enough in their power to admit it. Here's the NEA's General Counsel admitting as much in his retirement speech this past summer.
"Despite what some among us would like to believe it is not because of our creative ideas. It is not because of the merit of our positions. It is not because we care about children and it is not because we have a vision of a great public school for every child. NEA and its affiliates are effective advocates because we have power....
This is not to say that the concern of NEA and its affiliates with closing achievement gaps, reducing dropout rates, improving teacher quality and the like are unimportant or inappropriate. To the contrary. These are the goals that guide the work we do. But they need not and must not be achieved at the expense of due process, employee rights and collective bargaining. That simply is too high a price to pay.
(View YouTube video on this subject here.)
If you're a parent with children in the public schools you can voice your objections here. But the best way to object is by removing your children from their schools. Without your children they have no real power.
In a related story, future teachers in Minnesota are being "reducated" and become "culturally competent"

I'm going to make a tag similar to the one I did yesterday, because it was really fun.
Choose 10 of your favorite fictional characters, and list them below.
1) Pippin Took (from Lord of the Rings)
2) Mr. Bingley (from Pride and Prejudice)
3) Albert (from Little House on the Prarie)
4) Esther (from Bleak House)
5) Riley Poole (from National Treasure)
6) Susan (from Bringing Up Baby)
7) Ricky Ricardo (from I Love Lucy)
8) Joe Cartwright (from Bonanza)
9) Ben Cartwright (from Bonanza)
10) Adam Cartwright (from Bonanza)
----------------
1. If 9 (Ben) found himself/herslef in a dark alley alone, what would they do? He'd keep his hand on his gun the whole way home, and probably some guy would jump at him and hold him hostage for thousands of dollars.
2. 3 (Albert) and 6 (Susan) met each other at a party. What would they talk about, and would they get along? I don't really think they'd get along, and I really don't think there is anything they could talk about together.
3. While eating at a resturant, a passing waiter accidentally spills tomato soup on 5 (Riley). How would they react? He'd over react. Not yelling at anyone, but do that....Riley...thing that he does.
4. If 1 (Pippin) were at an ice cream parlor, which flavor would he/she choose? Um........... strawberry?
5. 4 (Esther) is walking down the street when someone randomly comes up to them and punches them in the face. What would he/she do? Um, she'd call for help, and probably run.
6. Would 2 (Mr. Bingley) rather sing in public or climb Mt. Everest? Haha, that question is really funny! Probably sing.
7. 10 (Adam), 7 (Ricky), and 8 (Joe) are fighting about who gets to have the last peice of cherry pie. How would it end? Ricky would start yelling in Spanish, Adam and Joe would fight like brothers do, and I think that Joe would eventually end up with it, since he's just Joe.
8. If 2 (Mr. Bingly) were to marry someone, who would it be? Um.....Jane? =)
9. 10 (Adam) has the chance to go to the symphony for free. Would he/she take the opportunity to go? Oh, yes he would, Mr. Educated music man. ;-)
10. If 1 (Pippin) had to write a report on something, what would it be about? I don't know, maybe Ents.
11. Would you be good friends with 3 (Albert)? Maybe.
12. Would 8 (Joe) be a good singer? Hahaha, no.
13. What song would 5 (Riley) most likely sing? He wouldn't sing any song.
14. Would 6 (Susan) rather work for 4 (Esther) or 9 (Ben), and why? Well, she'd rather work for Esther, because Ben is really hot-headed, and Esther isn't.
15. 7 (Ricky) is at a friend's house, and they serve his/her least favorite dish. What does he/she do? He'd start acting all funny, and he'd eventually be found out.
I tag Hailey, Emma, Pippin, and anyone else who wants it.
God Bless You,
Taylor
There is a LOT of things going on lately.
First off, on Tuesday, we visited some friends who live two hours away, whom we haven't seen in 2 whole years! The mom has had 8 children in total, though one of them went to be with God just a few hours after he was born. I had a very good time with them, we played all sorts of games, and had a great time. Their ages go like this... 14, 12, 10, 8, 6, 4, (the one who died would be 2), and 6 months. It was really great to see them again.
For school, I had to watch a DVD about Queen Victoria and Prince Albert. It was so so wonderfully done, I enjoyed it alot. But it was so very sad when Prince Albert died, I cried!
I've finished reading Les Miserables. I really liked it, though some of the ideas about reality are wrong in it, it was a very good, well-written book. And Marius is so cool. ;-)
Emma had her flute recital thingy, she did a really really great job! *applauds*
Christmas music is playing on the radio now!!! =D
I have FINALLY started writing a story. *gasp*
Here is a tag I took from missirocks...
List twelve fictional characters that you love from any books, movies, etc., and then answer the following questions.
1. Adam Cartwright (from Bonanza)
2. Cosette (from Les Miserables)
3. Joe Cartwright (from Bonanza)
4. Legolas (from Lord of the Rings)
5. Lucy Ricardo (from I Love Lucy)
6. Puddleglum (from The Silver Chair)
7. Ada Clare (from Bleak House)
8. Mr. Jarndyce (from Bleak House)
9. Elwood P. Dowd (from Harvey)
10. Marius Pontmercy (from Les Misrables)
11. Sir Henry Baskerville (from The Hound of the Baskervilles)
12. Jane Bennet (from Pride and Prejudice)
*******************************************
1. Who would make a better college prof, 6(Puddleglum) or 11(Sir Henry)? Probably Sir Henry.
2. 12 (Jane) sends 8 (Mr. Jarndyce) out on a mission. What is it? Does it succeed? Oh, my. I don't think Jane would send anyone out on a mission.
3. What is or would be 9's (Elwood) favorite book? Maybe Sense and Sensibility
4. For some reason, 5 (Lucy) is looking for a roommate. Should (s)he share a studio apartment with 9 (Elwood) or 10 (Marius)? Well, she's a girl, so she shouldn't have a roomate who's a man, but I suppose Elwood.
5. 2(Cosette), 7 (Ada), and 12 (Jane) have dinner together. Where do they go, and what do they discuss? They'd probably talk about their husbands, and I'm not sure where they'd go.
6. 3 (Joe) challenges 10(Marius) to a duel. What happens? That wouldn't happen, but if it did, Joe would probably not shoot, and then Marius wouldn't shoot either, but Joe might start a fist fight.
7. If 1 (Adam) stole 8's (Mr. Jarndyce) most precious possession, how would she/he get it back? Well, I don't think Mr. Jarndyce has a most precious possession, and I don't think Adam would steal anything, so..that one is kind of..unanswerable.
9. What kind of plot device would you use if you wanted 4 (Legolas) and 1 (Adam) to work together?I'm not so sure what that means. ...They both like shooting things, but Legolas has a bow, and Adam has a gun, I don't really think they could work together that well, they seem alot different.
10. If 7 (Ada) visited you for the weekend, how would you get along? I think I'd get along very well with her, she's very sweet.
11. If you could command 1 (Adam) to perform any one task or service for you, what would it be? Oh boy! =D There's too big of a list for me to answer that.
12. Does anyone on your friends list write or draw 11(Sir Henry)? What?
13. If 2 (Cosette) had to choose sides between 4 (Legolas) and 5 (Lucy), which would it be? Probably Lucy.
14. What might 10 (Marius) shout while charging into battle? probably something like "Viva la republique!"
15. If you chose a song to represent 8 (Mr. Jarndyce), which song would you choose? uhh...no clue.
16. 1(Adam), 6 (Puddleglum), and 12 (Jane) are having dim sum at a Chinese restaurant. There is only one scallion pancake left, and they all reach for it at the same time. Who gets to eat it? Jane, probably, because Puddleglum would be all sulky, and Adam would let the lady have it. But what on earth would any of them be doing in a Chinese resturant in the first place?
17. What might be a good pick-up line for 2 (Cosette) to use on 10(Marius)? Well, they both go together, so, "I love you" ;-)
18. What would 5 (Lucy) most likely be arrested for? Oh, I can't even begin to make a list.
19. What is 6's (Puddleglum) secret? Puddleglum has no secrets.
20. If 11 (Sir Henry) and 9 (Elwood) were racing to a destination, who would get there first? I don't know, I'll say Sir Henry.
21. If you had to walk home through a bad neighborhood late at night, would you feel safer in the company of 7 (Ada) or 8 (Mr. Jarndyce)? Mr. Jarndyce, certainly!
That was alot of fun! Anyone can take this one.
God Bless You,
Taylor
For all my homeschooling friends who think ObamaCare will solve their financial and health insurance woes, think again. It may give you temporary relief for your financial headache, but it may also invite government nannies into your home to improve your child's well-being and health.
HR 3200 that passed the House of Representatives, currently has a provision for funding states that implement a "voluntary" home visitation program for parents with young children or who are expecting. (See Sec. 1904 sec. 440)
The intended purpose is to " improve the well-being, health, and development of children by enabling the establishment and expansion of high quality programs providing voluntary home visitation for families with young children and families expecting children."In America we used to believe that was the role of the parent, but now it's the role of our benevolent and compassionate Uncle Sam. A gaze over the Atlantic will show us exactly where we're headed,
"Health and safety inspectors are to be given unprecedented access to family homes to ensure that parents are protecting their children from household accidents.New guidance drawn up at the request of the Department of Health urges councils and other public sector bodies to “collect data” on properties where children are thought to be at “greatest risk of unintentional injury”.
Council staff will then be tasked with overseeing the installation of safety devices in homes, including smoke alarms, stair gates, hot water temperature restrictors, oven guards and window and door locks.
The draft guidance by a committee at the National Institute for Health and Clinical Excellence (Nice) has been criticised as intrusive and further evidence of the “creeping nanny state”.
Where are the safety devices for the "creeping nanny" who keeps sticking her nose into our personal lives?
Why homeschoolers support this bill or President Obama is beyond my understanding.

Outside my window… the sun is low in the sky, casting a beautiful light over the snow-covered fields.
I am hearing... the washer and dryer running, pages turning as the girls read from the book baskets.
I am creating… another flannel petticoat. I think this winter is gonna be cold!
