Oh for those who didn't know - - we are planning on fostering a child in the near future:)
We have finished all of our classes (Yippie!) and all of our homestudies needed for fostering a child. We only need to complete a health inspection now. Then the paperwork can be handed into the county and they will make the final determination on whether or not we can foster. So please be praying that the process will not take too long.
We have a 4 day trip planned in April with the church. Our kids will be staying with friends and we will be going to Maryland for a Leadership conference. If we are ok'd to foster, we will most likely wait until we return from this trip to take a placement. However, for our family trip this summer to (MI,IN, and MN) we will bring the baby with us if we are able to. That will depend on if we have a placement at that time or not.
We are being liscensed for one child under the age of three. Our friend said that it is easier to have your limit (the amount of children) increased rather than having it decreased. So we agreed to start with one.
Our friends have given us a crib, a pack and play and some linens to use. Another friend has a car seat and a toddler bed we can use. (We don't know if it will be a baby or a toddler) We still need to acquire a crib mattress, but I believe someone at our church will be able to lend us one for awhile.
Well, I need to finish up some responsibilities before leaving the house early tomorrow. I have been in St. Pete everyday this week for Dr. apts and the such. Tomorrow we have an allergy apt. With the price of gas, I have been riding in with A. Luan and then I spend the day at the church. Today I did a little shopping. Tomorrow, the kids will work on a science project (leaf classifications). Friday I get to stay home:) YEAH!!!!!
