thoughts for my little graduate
Our homeschooling adventure began about 14 years ago when I began teaching our oldest. She was 3 years old and loved learning so much. For 17 years, we have had the priviledge of watching her grow into a beautiful godly woman. Although, I am so proud of her, I also have mixed feelings about this stage in her life. I want her to be that little 3 year old again, following me around the house, reaching up her arms to me, saying, "hold it mommy". I don't want her to graduate. My 3 oldest kids accuse me all the time of giving them extra school work so I can keep them home forever and not let them graduate and go to college. Though I would love to keep them home forever, I am also excited to see what God is going to do with them. As Nikki gets ready to graduate, I know that God has wonderful things in store for her. The best way I can describe how I feel is through a song by Mark Harris. The lyrics are: "Find your Wings" It's only for a moment you are mine to hold The plans that heaven has for you Will all too soon unfold So many different prayers I'll pray For all that you might do But most of all I'll want to know You're walking in the truth And If I never told you I want you to know As I watch you grow Chorus: I pray that God would fill your heart with dreams And that faith gives you the courage To dare to do great things I'm here for you whatever this life brings So let my love give you roots And help you find your wings May passion be the wind That leads you through your days And may conviction keep you strong Guide you on your way May there be many moments That make your life so sweet Oh, but more than memories

Hi Denise, I stopped by after seeing that you had listed me as a friend. What an honor! Thank you for your website, I visited it also and was so impressed with the video. It does a heart good to see others that have such a heart for those that don't know our Lord, after all it is the great commision. One more thing, my prayers are with you as your oldest is about to graduate, I know this must be tough emotionally and God will sustain you with peace and the ability to trust Him as He will lead her to make the choices that you and your husband will no longer be as involved in. God Bless you and yours! Julie
