Homeschooling with the Knights

scholarships for homeschoolers

So we are trying to get our oldest registered for college....  We apply for grants and look for scholarships.  Turns out, we make too much money for a pell grant.  That's shocking since we have to scrape up gas money.  So now we are left looking for scholarships.  We know that God will open doors.  Nothing is too big for Him, not even getting into college.  But I'll through this out to any who read this blog, if you know of any scholarships that are commonly applied for by homeschoolers, let me know.

Hey,
I was just given a list today. I haven't checked them out yet, and one is for michigan, but you might find one for your state by substituting the name or something.....
These are sites that I was told are NOT the people who you pay to find you scholarships. Those often take the $ and run.
These were given us by the christian university where we just went and signed my daughter up for next year's freshman classes.

I know what you mean about the Pell. We were disappointed, too.
We also got one through gleaners insurance, because a grandparent has insurance through them and it was available.
Make sure you check out FAFSA through the U.S.Department of Education. We got stuff there, too.
We also signed our kids up at the local high school for this state assessment test (optional for homeschoolers) that got us $2100. The school had never had a homeschooler come and take the test before, even though the test is in the news all the time, as it evaluates how the schools are doing.
Our daughter got quite a bit from the university based on her ACT score (which was a part of this school test.) You can take it several times (there are rules on this) to improve your score, and there are books and courses on how to do well. We got probably 2/3 of her total cost covered without even looking very far yet. There are those who look around and get it all covered for all four years, I'm told.
Pray that the Lord will lead you!
have fun...

No ideas there. I had to take out a loan to go to school, as did nearly everyone I know. I am sure God will provide something...
Take care and good luck.
