Good Bye to Public School
Alienated is how my children felt in public school. I can not begin to explain the pain I had to witness my children endure day after day. Having a child in Middle School, two in Elemtary and a toddler, there were moments when i just wanted to get into a fetal position and hide under a rock.
What i s a parent to do when they see their child in a situation that is unresolvable. For instance my oldest child, a boy, is in Middle school. He is constantly being reminded of how he is a goodie goodie. He is a straight A student, in the Principal Honor Roll since Pre-K.
A gifted child. A sensitive, and thoughtful child. Who gets bullied on a daily basis. I have see this bright eyed child go from a cheerful young boy to a sad child.
When he came to me one day and said "mom take me out of school please mom, please. I can't go anymore I cant take it anymore" i know right then and there that i had to do something I had to act now.
When my daughter entered the fourth grade I thought it's going to be wonderful. She is going to meet friends that will sculpt her life, BFF. Oh boy was i wrong. Instead my daughter was tormented day after day after day. She'd cry every day after school. Slowly this cheerful little girl who loved the world hated everyone including me for sending her to school.
Mybest friends daughter (whom I consider to be like my niece) lived in NYC, though she isn't my daughter I love her as my own so yes to me she's is my fifth child. Another wonderful little girl who just did not fit into her environment. The world is so cruel especailly when those you consider friends are the ones who want to "jump you " after school. Her mother had no choice but to pull her out of schoool and relocate her to Florida.
*** Unfortunately, my "fifth" child has been relocated back to NYC, i wish her and her mother well and wish them many blessing. sometimes we are so eager to get ahead we don't stop and plan ahead.My youngest daughter as of now is th eonly one who has not passed intot he danger zone being in second grade the children are still innocent enough to think twice. It's after the third grade into fourth when there is no telling if she, as the others , will ask to be pulled out of school.
As a parent we try to do what is right. We conform to what society deems fit. The norm. Yet, I wonder what is the norm for those who have to deal with torment on a daily basis? Why? because they are a little different, kind, innocent, sweet and just what they are suppose to be, children.

i just wanted to say welcome to the homeschooling community! It's awful how kids treat each other in school. Sorry your children had to endure such pain but I'm glad you are doing something about it.

Keep it up M!! You can homeschool them and the entire neighborhood and they will be that much better for it!
May the power of the Lord Guide you in helping these precious GIFTS find their GOD given tallents to be put to use for His Good Will to be done here on Earth as Done in the Heavens!

WHEN I FIRST STARTED TO HOMESCHOOL MY KIDS, AND SOMETIMES EVEN NOW, I HEARD COMMENTS ABOUT HOW SOCIALLY INEPT MY KIDS WOULD BE. I'M HAPPY TO SAY, MY KIDS HAVE NEVER BEEN TO ANY KIND OF TRADITIONAL SCHOOLING, BUT THEY GET ALONG WONDERFULLY WITH EVERYONE AND HAVE SEVERAL MEANINFUL FRIENSHIPS. NOT ONLY THAT, THEY ARE ACADEMICALLY MORE ADVANCED THAN THEIR SCHOOLED COUNTERPARTS AND CHRONOLOGICAL GRADE LEVEL.
