Geesh...
I've been too scatterbrained recently to outline a real lesson plan that would make sense to anyone but me. You can check HERE to see what I spent the weekend working on. It turned out nice, I think. It is a nice little virtual field trip through Nebraska, including sites of geographic interest.
OK, that is actually only a small part of what I spent the weekend working on. I have spent the main part of the weekend, as well as a good part of today writing an article...my first actual submission to a magazine for which I HOPE to get paid for. You know what I realized? Only half the time was spent actually writing it. Half the time was spent getting it ready to send...formatting, proof reading, etc.
Know what else I learned? Well, you'd think I would have known it. Good thing I did proofread it a gazillion times, but here is what I found:
It is probably a good thing to spell the editor's name correctly.
It is a good thing to type the email address correctly...or not if you look at my next error.
If you say you are attaching the article, you probably should.
It is probably a good thing to spell my own name correctly. But if I'm consistent enough with it, no one may notice.
Word is cool, but takes some getting used to. I have used Works for years and just got this in order to format this article correctly.
It is really hard to only put a single space after a period when you have been putting two there since you learned to type way back in middle school.
Ooh. The city name of the company is probably also good to spell correclty.
Oops. That isn't even my phone number. Won't my parents be surprised at that phone call...assuming, of course, the article is purchased.
Enough for now. I have other non-blogging work to complete. Have a blessed day!
Oh yeah, if you enjoyed the last carnival of homeschooling, there is another going on now! Homeschool A-Z. I have only had time to browse briefly, but check it out. A LOT of work went into that!
