Grace For Gayle

Mommy CEO!

I know there is a common misconception out there that stay at home mom’s have nothing to offer to the workforce by the end of their parenting years.  But the amount of organization it takes to set up a bevy of  babysitters, pack for 6 people going in separate directions and map out each kids destination  so that Mom and Dad can get away for a long weekend,  leaves no question in my mind that I could totally run a fortune 500 company without breaking a sweat.

TOTALLY!

It’s taken four different babysitters, working in shifts, to do a portion of what I do by myself every day of the week.   And that not only makes me feel extremely underpaid, but very deserving of a break.    So….while I’m off discoing under a mirrored ball,  watching the sun set, and eating breakfast in bed (I’m completely fantasizing, it’s a church leadership retreat in the boonies) my blog will be blank.

See ya on Monday!

hehe..I will never forget the day in October when Jeremy and I asked my single and never-had-her-own children auntie to babysit for us. We took off for a day to celebrate my birthday. She called in resources (two of my cousins and one girlfriend) so that each child had their own supervisor. Four people to watch my kiddos for a day!!! rotflol

Have fun while you're away! You right...you deserve it!

Tell it sistah! It DOES take a ton of work to have someone else take care of the crew.
I hope you had a great weekend!

So how was the weekend? Sometimes I can come back from something like that so refreshed because I got a break from my zillions of responsibilities and zillions of kids (or 4, but it feels like more). And sometimes all that retreating and thinking and ministry stuff drains me even more than zillions of kids can. Hope you got some disco moves in somewhere during your weekend.

Gayle, I just wanted to thank you for mentioning one time in a comment you left me that you'd gone to the Love and Respect conference. I was reading the book but had no idea they had conferences. I read your note, got online and found they were having one where my in-laws live! We went this past weekend, dropped the kids off at grandma's and had a wonderful time. All because of YOU! :) Thanks!
