1 lb. ground beef
1/2 onion, chopped
3 stalks celery, chopped finely
2 cans (16 oz.) tomato sauce
1 can (10 oz.) tomato puree
1 can (8 oz.) tomato paste
1/2 tea. salt
1 tsbp. italian seasoning
1 tsp. garlic powder
1 cup water
1/2 cup wine
Brown hamburger, onion and celery, drain fat. Put in crock pot with all other ingredients. Cook on low 6-8 hours or on medium for 4 hrs. The amount for the spices is what I start with and then after it has cooked a couple of hours I taste it and add a little more until it taste the way I like it. Also you can pan sear a rump roast and add it to the sauce. Just take it out and slice it when you are ready to serve it. It comes out very tender this way.

Thanks for posting your recipe Michelle! It sounds really good! We don't drink, so I will have to see about finding a store and getting some wine. Just curious, have you ever tried it without the wine? Thanks so much for sharing, it sounds delicious!
Have a great day,
Stacy

We don't drink either just use it for cooking so I buy whatever is the cheapest. I have also made this sauce with more water substituting it for the wine. It does'nt have the same flavor as it does with the wine but is still good that way.
