Encouraging Quote

Posted in Quotes to ponder

I came accross this quote in a devotional book and found it very encouraging.

" However low the people of God are at any time brought, everlasting arms are underneath them to keep the spirit from fainting and the faith from failing, even when they are pressed above measure... everlasting arms with which believers have been wonderfully sustained and kept cheerful in the worst of times.  Divine grace is sufficient."  Matthew Henry

Vacation Bible School

Posted in Quotes to ponder

Our church just finished a week of VBS.  It was so fun and busy too.  My job this past week was to help 3-6 year olds memorize Bible Verses.  It was so much fun.

I was amazed at what some of these little ones knew about the the salvation message at such a young age.  Here are some of the my favorite quotes and highlights:

Answer to any and every question I might ask:  Jesus

How many people have sinned?  Answers 3, 57, 300, 57,000 and finally everyone except Jesus.

Where can we pray?

"Everywhere except you can't pray at school."  Mateo, age 5. (One of the many reasons why we homeschool)

When talking about how Jesus died for our sins Riely age 5 said, " I don't like to talk about that because it makes me feel sad."

"I like to read the Bible everyday because it is a really good book." Brandon, age 6.

Hold on to your freedom

Posted in Quotes to ponder

"Our constition is for a moral and religious country-- it will not work for any other type of country."  John Adams

Where in the following quote would say our country is today?  What must we do to avoid the return to bondage?

"From bondage to spiritual faith;

From spiritual faith to great courage;

From courage to liberty;

From liberty to abundance;

From abundance to complacency;

From complacency to apathy;

From apathy to dependence;

From dependence back into bondage."

Tea bag wisdom

Posted in Quotes to ponder

I love tea.  It is one of my favorite things in life.  When I discovered that one of my favorite teas had little quotes on the tags I felt I got a double portion of blessing.  If you haven't tried Good Earth teas give them a try.  They taste great and give you a little something to think about  too.  Here are some of my favorite tea bag quotes.

"Faith is daring the soul to go beyond what the eyes can see." Anonymous

"Education is what you have left over after you have forgotten everything you have learned."  Anonymous

"The first step to wisdom is silence; the second is listening." Anonymous

"The beginning is the most important part of work." Plato

I am discovering day by day God's faithfulness to give me just what I need just when I need it most. It is my hearts desire to trust him more completely, as he molds me into the woman, wife, and mother he created me to be.
