Nice Matters Award

Posted in Ramblings

What an honor!! I received this award from tbrowne because niceness does matter.

So, the rules are:

This award is for those bloggers who are nice people; good blog friends and those who inspire good feelings and inspiration. Also for those who are a positive influence on our blogging world. Once you’ve been awarded please pass it on to 7 others who you feel are deserving of this award.”

Lately, I haven't kept up with the blogging world but there are a few blogs that I do visit regularly because they are always so encouraging and uplifting. I'd like to nominate these bloggers for the Nice Matters Award: lonestaracdemy, Jedi4sweet, Abiga51, joyismystrength, dawilli, genamayo, and EEEEMommy. There are others that are inspirational but I am limited to seven.

There's no place like home...

Posted in Ramblings

I am so glad to be back at home. My flight was Tuesday night and I arrived in Atlanta Wednesday morning, then it was a 2 hour ride to get home. No matter how much I enjoyed spending time with my daughter and grandsons, there's no place like home

Halloween Treats

Posted in Ramblings

Earwax on a Swab
24 mini marshmallows
6 ounces butterscotch chips

1. Snip straws into 2 and 1/2 inch lengths. You should have twenty
four 2 and 1/2 inch straws. To form cotton swabs, firmly press a mini
marshmallow onto the end of each straw piece.
2. Place butterscotch chips into microwave-safe bowl and microwave at
low power or defrost setting for about theiry seconds. Use a pot
holder and remove the bowl from the microwave. Stir the butterscotch
with a toothpick and return it to the microwave. Repeat this process
until the butterscotch looks completely melted.
3. Dip the very tip of each cotton swab into the melted earwax and
place sideways on waxed paper to harden

* I'm going to use pretzels instead of straws.

California, Here I come...

Posted in Ramblings

My daughter (Kelly) has decided that it's time to the return home. She and the boys took a vacation to Orlando for a month but they are still homesick so they will be leaving at the first of November. I will accompany them on their ride back to California, then I'll fly home afterwards.

Karsyn's eyes

Posted in Ramblings

I'm still trying to learn my way around Photoshop. I dont have as much time for learning the program as what I need but it is fun to play with.

People are always commenting on Karsyn's big eyes so....

 .... well, I think she's adorable anyway.

falling leaves

Posted in Ramblings

If you have visited my blog lately, you might remember my falling leaves. I loved them but I am easily distracted so I assumed there are others who are also distracted.. therefore, I removed the leaves.

I am a mother to three grown daughters who all graduated from homeschool. I baby-sit my two granddaughters and use "Before Five in a Row" with them. My grandsons are also staying here while their dad is deployed. My mother thinks I should get a "job" but watching the grandchildren grow is the most rewarding job in the world. Come along as we explore God's world together.

Grand-Kids

Ryan is the oldest of my grandchildren. He is 4 years old and is my Tom Sawyer. He's the quietest one of the bunch but if he's not careful, he can be swayed by Huckelberry Finn. He enjoys being outside and getting dirty.

Kaylee is 4 years old. She is a cross between Ellie Mae Clampett and a Disney Princess. She loves animals and all that is involved with their care but she also likes girly activities. She enjoys learning new things and is always eager for "school".

Rowley is a typical little boy. He is 3 years old and is my little Huckleberry Finn. He's the adventurous one and has to be watched every minute of the day because you never know what he might be up to.

Karsyn turned 2 year old on September 16. She is also an adventurous child. She enjoys cuddling as long as it doesnt take up too much time because she has a want/need to be on the move.
