Jan. 17, 2009 - Readalouds
Sure my kids can read pretty well on their own now. Still, they enjoy it when I read aloud to them. It is enjoyable for all of us. It helps us to share an experience together. It also helps with their listening skills. Here are some read alouds our family has enjoyed. I will try to add more as I think of them or as we read them:
-Charlotte's Web *
-Trumpet of the Swan *
-Railway Children
-Family Under the Bridge *
-Carry On, Mr. Bowditch *
-Little House on the Prairie Series *
-Mr. Popper's Penguins
-Paddington Bear books
-The Littles series *
-Beverly Cleary books*
-Childhood of Famous Americans series
-The Door in the Wall
-Ginger Pye
Current Read Aloud: Caddie Woodlawn

Jan. 23, 2009 - Read A Louds
These are some of my favorites too! One for boys who aren't crazy about reading is "Where the Red Fern Grows". All the original Winnie the Poohs by Milner are fun too.
