Yes! I  just saw Chronicles of Narnia, Prince Caspian two days ago! Finally! Yay!

Anyways...

I'm going to review the movie, posting my opinions in three different categories. Here they are:

----------------------------------------------------------------------------
The Good...
---------------------------------------------------------------------------

Definitely worthy to bear the title of 'The Chronicles of Narnia'. An awesome sequel to an awesome series.

The acting was good, the characters portrayed right, the format decent... overall, a very good movie.

I thought I saw improvement and growthy in acting by all of the children.

Edmund has grown, not only in age, but also in acting. In this one, he's also stronger character, alot more willing for sacrifice, and braver, too.

Lucy has grown older, quite visibly, but that hasn't effected her innocent nature. She acts better, though not as emotionally as in the first one.

Susan was better, also. It's sad that she won't be in the next one. She's grown up even more, and is also a little more happier in this film.

Peter was a great actor, though they portrayed him as grumpy, and self-confident, to the point of sacrifice of others. It's sad that he also won't be coming back in the next movie.

------------------

The movie was very well shot, in very good locations. They animated it almost perfectly, and all the characters were casted correctly, in my opinion.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
The Bad...
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

They did not, however, give enough screen time to many people. They ditch Trufflehunter halfway through the movie, and don't tell anything about her afterwards.

They also did not give Cornelius enough screen time. He's a key character, and yet they also kind of forget him halfway through the movie.

Caspian did not have enough of a personality. They showed him enough, but they did not give him a specific personality. You could not tell if he was a happy person, a sad person, a troubled person, or anything. He just doesn't have anything to distinguish him.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
The Warnings:
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

I don't think this movie was any worse than the first one, though it is obviously darker.

Things to watch out for in Caspian:

1. The scene with the Werewolf might be disturbing to younger audience. The Werewolf looks quite evil, and the hag is disgusting. I also think that it would be disturbing for a younger child to see when Edmund breaks through the ice which entraps the White Witch. I won't go into detail, but it shows something that is just slightly disturbing...

2. The factor that they are actually killing human men in this movie. In the first movie, they were killing beasts, but in this movie, they are slaughtering men.

3. Yes, they use more blood in this movie. I'm glad they did, though, because in the first one, since they put no blood in, you could not tell if someone got hurt. In this one, they use it to show that someone has been hurt, though they don't use it excessively.

4. They stab both Miraz, and the reflection of the White Witch, which are both slightly disturbing.

----------------------------------------------------------------------
Overview...
----------------------------------------------------------------------

A very good movie, with very good actors. They were given a hard movie to make, and they did it! They portrayed it very well.

I would not suggest this movie to a certain age group. I think that parents should, instead of following the rating, see this movie first, and discern if their kids can see it.

As I've said, there's only two really disturbing scenes, which are the stabbings.

Other than that, the movie, I believe, earns 9.5 stars out of ten!

It looks like a great movie, but is it true that they strayed from the book?

I seen The Birds a few times.
I completely agreed with you!
Also, I'm going to say that she dies.
What? She was a goner!
I'm going to say the birds are attacking because of loss of
habitat.

I think I'll call you Nicholas,
because:

1. It sounds a little like Legolas (Which reminds me of a story you have to hear, which I put below.)
2. There's a girl at my church named Nikki
(so that wouldn't personally work for me)
3. Although Martin Irving has a nice ring to it,
I highly doubt people will understand why I would call you it
(And I wouldn't know if I should call you Mr. Irving,
or Martin, seeing that no one would really address some one by there full name (Unless, of course, they were cross with said person.)

Okay, at a camp I go to (It's in a week from the day I wrote this comment (Monday), actually, but it's a day-camp, so I can still comment and post)
There was a kid there who looked exactly like Legolas,
He even had in elf name (Eli! Pronounced E-lie).
My sisters and I gave every one in our class a nick-name,
His being Legolas

(I.e. Non-breather (The kid who didn't move)
Smeagol (The kid whose last name was Camille),
Napoleon (He looked like said dictator, really)
and Paris Hilton to a boy who wore large,
girly sunglasses, that he stole from a girl he knew).

Note we didn't call any of the kids (I hate calling people around my age that! I mean I can't call them children, because that would look weird...)
any of those nick-names, nor did we tell any other people about them.

(Oh, my! Extra long comment, sorry. I chatter much too much.)

I remember reading somewhere that they had to add more stuff to Caspian because there wasn't enough in the book to make a movie out of.

You should watch Kingdom of the Crystal Skull. It's seriously weird but funny. :p

I liked your review. I think I agree with you. I think it was a really good movie (obviously I don't support the story anymore), but very good movie in terms of acting, CGI, and action.

I was not happy about the Caspian/Susan kiss, but it's Disney. What do we expect?

Then why didn't they attack the pet shop in the city,
you know, the one with all the birds in it?
Besides, my reason is more logical.
If the offending birds were so keen on love-birds,
why hadn't they stuck out years before?
I mean, really,
there had to have been love-birds there before.

Oh!
I forgot to tell you!
I just saw Prince Caspian like an hour ago!
My friends and I couldn't stop laughing at his accent.
It was not unlike Puss in Boot's (Which sounds weird...
Puss in Boot's? Odd to sound out).

Still, it was good.

I saw the movie recently also... i liked it alot. I liked how they continued to show how hard the struggle between good people and a not so good kingdom can be. Also i loved how they use VERY intriguing strategies in the battle scene, like taking the ground away. Also i loved the message about how you need to be like a child to truly go after God. so ya, GREAT movie... i recommend to anyone... who can handle fight scenes that is...

Great review! I JUST got back from seeing the movie! It was great, and I had decided to give it 4 and a half stars out of 5! Before I saw your rating! I agree with you on basically everything. I like most of the changes they made, surprisingly. I've read every book at least 10 times, and I am a total Lewis purist! But I think it helped that I was warned about all the changes... I did absolutely hate the romance, though. Especially the kiss. It was so uncalled for, and the stage wasn't even set for it! Oh, well. I really liked the movie, overall. (Oh... um, Trufflehunter is male, I believe.)

I guess this answers the question in your comment, too!

Yeah, you're right about them guessing at the characters! Still, though, there's hardly any hints to the romance in the movie up until the kiss. If I wasn't looking, I would hardly have noticed. So the kiss was pretty much a shocker, since you hardly get the idea that they're attracted to each other. Regardless, it was annoying!

I haven't seen BBC Prince Caspian in a long time. You know, BBC did a good job, as far as accuracy goes. Although the animation is horrible, for sure! The music is excellent: I love Aslan's theme!

Am I going crazy or did you just change the title and photos in this post? lol

Anyways, thank you for your comment on my manners post. No Mr. Nick then huh? I have a hard time figuring out what to call gentleman who aren't 5yrs my senior. Mr. Nick definitely doesn't go too well and I can't see myself calling you it anyways, so no worries. And why did you pick "grelb"? btw? : )

Blessings!

I didn't say I didn't understand why his accent is so odd,
I just thought it was hilarious!

Hey,
have you heard of the new Clone Wars animation movie coming out?

Oh, and question:

Have you recently seen any musicals?
I just saw Singing In the Rain.... It was awesome.
They really had rain up on stage.
I still love Gene Kelly, though.

Jesus Christ Super Star?
Or Godspell?
Those are both really awesome plays.

I know!
I hate spin-offs.
And I find reading a book about book about a movie
kind of......(No offense to anyone) nerdy.
Although I am most definitely a nerd (A cool nerd, although it defeats the definition of "Nerd").
A movie somehow like, but has a different plot from, Star Wars would be cool.
This movie, however, is not.
It's an animation flick that has new characters and a new plot twists to Clone Wars.
And the animation form creeps me out.
You can see the trailer for it on Apple.com/trailers,
Although I wouldn't recommend it.
It still creeps me out.

RYC: Are we really the ones who make ourselves write? Half the time I don't know how I write what I write. I just accept that God has placed a gift in me.

Good point about picking who you marry. I think that it is a logical thing to want to do. In biblical times it was a different story.

I do think that parents should help us pick a mate though and that they should be actively involved in making sure that person is right for us.

Anyway, got to run.

God Bless,
Eric
