Chicken Soup for the Mortal Soul

• Jul. 7, 2008 - Whoops, sorry...

Posted in Whoops...
Whoops, I just realized that two out of three of my last posts were related to movies, or bringing reference to them.

Time for me to take a break from movie reviews, and go into a new category.

Thanks for reading!

I thought as much.
The books do swear more then the movie's, I think.
A friend of mine went to sleep-away camp and his mom sent him the last book when it came out,
and he went around showing all the kids the bad words in it.
Some people think swearing is funny, apparently.

I can't abide swearing, myself,
but I wouldn't think a movie sinful if it said a minor one.
I think Shrek said a few, and (Yes, I will use this against you)
even Star Wars did, as you said in your last post.
You don't shun Star Wars because of that, do you?

So, no, I don't think Harry Potter is sinful.
I must say, I was surprised you brought up the subject,
seeing I thought you quite the Harry Potter fan.

Okay, big misunderstanding, then.
What I still don't understand is how you think Harry Potter is a satan-worshiper.
I'm a bit confused there.

Also, here's a big one,
If you hate Harry Potter so much why are you reading the books and/or watching the movies?
Hmmmm? What about that?

Haha, I think we've already discussed this, but you may want to take off the "read my post" link. ; )

Basically what you're saying is all magic is evil, right.
What did unicorns ever do to you?
Besides, it's a fictional book.
And Gandalf is a wizard, much like Dumbledore.
Same beard, same......old wizard look.
And in LOTR a bunch of mud-peoples worship a giant eye.
Yeah, that sure isn't a reference to anything bad.
Also, there is numerous bar scenes when the characters indulge in drinking, and other folly.

I have nothing against LOTR, but it does make a good example.
(I feel like saying "So there!" but that might be rather rude, don't you think?)

Also,
Our religion isn't so contrastive!
As a matter of fact, it's rather the same!
(Excepting, of course I don't believe in views from the middle ages!)

Oh, and please ignore any farther comments stating how "mean" you are, or to stop picking on "poor" Outloud.
Thats my little sister.
She gets a kick out of that sort of thing.
So,
My sincerest apologies.

Also,
in the future you may want to discontinue your reference of me being a young woman.
I'm only fourteen, anyway.
You could call me "That person", or her, perhaps,
I would also except "The one you previously mentioned".
That one could work.

Gandalf is an angel?
Ummmmm... What?
So, what you're trying to tell me is that Gandalf....the wizard...isn't a wizard but an angel.
Wow. That is just..... wow.
What I'm wondering, though,
is how you've come to believe that fictional magic is devil-worshiping.
I mean, it's that sort of thinking that got hundreds "young women" killed for supposedly being witches.

And besides,
Witches and wizards aren't real,
Dragons aren't real,
Unicorns.....okay unicorns are totally real, but thats besides the point.

And, really, do you think ALL magic is evil?
I mean, you go to a magic show,
and the magician says he will now pull a rabbit out of a hat,
and you yell "Devil-worshipper!" and storm out?

(Although that would make several children's birthday party far more interesting........)

~Jacque

P.S.
I will not deal with it.
I go find Peter Pan and make him take me to Never Land if I have to.
(Or is Peter Pan a devil-worshipper, too, for living forever?
Pixie dust....ooooh, sinful.)

The other superheroes I like are Batman and Green Arrow and Flash. Practically any hero in the Justice League. :)
I really don't care for Marvel comics, I am a DC comics all the way! :P

On the trip we had 2 laptops. Mine and Mama's. So we were able to watch movies and things.

I am still kinda clueless as to what you mean about me being different like Aragorn and Legolas. LOL! And where have you seen a pic of me not smiling? I am always smiling.... at least I think so!

Thanks for coming by! :)

Could you do video game reviews and whatnot? I'd like that a lot, begging your pardon for that probably sounding weird...

I was certainly glad that Susan and Lucy didn't fade into the background. That would've been boring, lol!

Superhero movies; as in Superman, Spiderman and Batman? I haven't seen any of those. We just never got around to researching them to see if they were good, I guess! Are they good? I've mostly heard that Spiderman is the best and the others are ok.

~Grace

P.S. HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!!! Sorry this is late. You're 14 now, right? ;-)
