Real Beauty
Being a girl can be tough sometimes with some issues that we go through.... Especially when it comes to the subject of beauty. All girls are influenced in some way--even Christians-- by the world's standards of beauty. The world defines (or tries to at least) beauty for us. From our body shape, to our clothes, hair, skin, etc. We've all heard that if you ain't the one looking like the models on the magazines, or dressing like them, you aint gonna catch a man, and you aint beautiful, and all of those lies that sometimes discourage us.
None of us can help to admit that we want to look beautiful!! We want to be pretty and good-looking. We buy all the beauty products we can get our hands on to. But in the end, no matter how good the product, we're always left unsatisfied.

We have been influenced way too much by the world's definition of beauty. Of course though, there's nothing wrong with wanting to look nice, and I'm not suggesting we never comb our hair again and hide ourselves in a huge potato sack. Of course not! That's not the point I am trying to come to. I am writing this because I am going to tell you the ultimate beauty secret. (No, I'm not selling anything lol) You can't buy it, and it's not something that happens overnight, but it's free, and you can get these upon your choice if you would like to have them.
Ready to find out what the ultimate beauty secret is that will guarantee to make you more beautiful? Here they are:
* Kindness
* Love
* Humility
* A servant's heart
* Forgiveness
* Contentment
* Faith
*Purity
*Obediance
* Grace
* And a life lived all for God
This, and more, is the only true way to achieve that beauty we all desire. Sure, those models look gorgeous, but if they are missing these things, they're missing it all.....
Warning though: Believe me, it's not easy. I can't tell you about these things without looking at my own life. I want these things so bad, but I am far from perfect. These are something we have to work at, and strive for. These things are a choice. We've all heard the phrase, "falling in love," but love is not something that happens automatically. It is a choice. We choose to love, we choose to be kind, we choose to forgive. It's a direction we choose to follow.
If we strive all of our life for the world's kind of beauty, we will always be lacking. We will always strive for something more. I don't think there's nothing more beautiful than a heart of kindness, love, contentment, humility, etc. I think that with these qualities can a girl only be the prettiest female of all.
"Mirror" lyrics by Barlow Girl
Mirror, Mirror on the wall, Have I got it?
'Cause Mirror you've always told me who I am
I'm finding it's not easy to be perfect
So sorry you won't define me
Sorry you don't own me
Who are you to tell me
That I'm less than what I should be?
Who are you? Who are you?
I don't need to listen
To the list of things I should do
I won't try, I won't try
Mirror I am seeing a new reflection
I'm looking into the eyes of He who made me
And to Him I have beauty beyond compare
I know He defines me
You don't define me, you don't define me

awesome post! your blog is really neat. I added you to my friends. I don't have enough time time commenton both of your blogs, so I will answer your question here. No I can't help you with your sidebar. Not because I'm mean,but because I don't know how. My mom made the tags for me. I'm sure if you ask Amanda or Jocelyn they could make them for you though. Sorry.
