Proverbs 31:21-31

First things first. I want to introduce you to my good friend, ohhappyhappyday. Make sure you check out her blog and make her feel welcome! Alright, here is the last installment in the Proverbs 31 series...

I'm going to outline it like I did last time, that seemed to settle well with you guys.

v. 21: She has prepared ahead of time, her family is clothed in the best
v. 22: She doesn't forget to care for her own needs, she allows herself a little "me" time, and dresses herself in fine clothes as well
v. 23: Her husband has a position of importance, she chose someone with with integrity and responsibility
v. 24: She uses her talents to earn extra money
v. 25: She is optimistic, strong, and dignified
v. 26: She is known for her wisdom and kindness, and she is well versed in the ways of the wise. Everything she says is commendable
v. 27: She is aware of her influence among her family, she does not tolerate laziness
v. 28: Her children grow up as a credit to their mother
v. 29: Her husband praises her above all other women, saying she excels above everyone else
v. 30: Charm and Beauty may last for a while, but fearing the Lord... NO ONE CAN TAKE THAT AWAY
v. 31: Her works are a credit to her, they are a witness of her character and integrity, many will praise her

I hope I've been able to convey an amount of truth. I know I kept it simple, and really didn't elaborate, but I feel that that's the way I needed to do it. I don't want to add so much to the text that it detracts from the beautiful message of the original passage. In closing, I want to leave you with a little something special. One of my friends wrote this, and she gave me permission to share it with you. I'll call her My Butterfly, as an alias. :))  Be sure to read all the way to the end!!!!!! It may not be exactly on the topic, but it's worth reading, and I know you'll enjoy it! In her words, my butterfly wants this message to spread like WILDFIRE!

Picture this...

You're a 14 year old girl [give or take a few years]

you're a good kid, you work hard, and do your best in everything you can

but you come from a poor family

you're also uneducated, illiterate, but strong nonetheless

and live in a poverty stricken city

you're not married

but you do have a devoted boyfriend who loves you very much

.....but you're pregnant

and the child is NOT his

and he has no idea......

and you knew that if your family and neighbors found out, they could literally kill you for getting pregnant before marriage!!!

but if things turned out well, you'd live---

but once word got out, you'd live in shame,
being the hot topic of everyone's gossip
no doubt there would be plenty of people going behind your back and calling you dirty names reserved for loose women

anyway, you find the courage to tell your boyfriend that you're pregnant

and his dreams of marrying you are pretty much crushed, he feels so hurt and betrayed-- he loves you

he wants an immediate break up

but you tell him to hang on

so you gave birth in a dirty, secluded, but safe place, somewhere like the backyard of someone you just met....

because you were in hiding,

cuz there were hundreds, maybe thousands, of big scary guys with weapons [sent from the leader of your country] that were coming after you to kill YOUR child

so you were really, REALLY SCARED

and you had practically no food or money

no hygenic hospital

no "decent" health care

no insurance

no doctor

NO PAINKILLERS

no high tech stuff to monitor the health status of your child

no ultrasounds to see if your baby was "normal"

not even a midwife

you had no experience in mothering or childbearing

no knowledge of whether or not the child would have diseases

you didn't even know if the child would be alive when you gave birth!

but you did it anyway

cuz guess what:

You're the Virgin Mary, you concieved the Son of God by the Holy Spirit, and even though you were engaged, living in poverty, uneducated, pregnant, inexperienced and un-wed

you knew that abortion = abomination

and it was the last thing from your mind

she didn't kill her child.....
why should any one else?

Have a blessed week, dears. I'll be back in a week or so with a NEW TOPIC, but that is yet to be decided. As it turns out, there is a good chance that I will not be doing the anxiety series right now. I do have the entries sketched out, but something is telling me to wait... or Somebody. I don't know, I just don't have a peace about posting them now. I love you guys! EVERY ONE OF YOU!!!!
