A Perfect Tuesday, Homeschool Reflections, and Thanksgiving by Glenn Cheney

This just has to be the perfect weather for autumn. I love this time of year. The air is fresh and crisp, but it is neither too hot nor too cold.

I am reading a book by Glenn Cheney called Thanksgiving. I have been fascinated! This book is nonfiction. It is not a historical fiction like I am so wont to read for fun. But it is turning out to be pleasure reading anyway. I have not read a more interesting account of the events leading up to our precious celebration yet. Mr. Cheney starts the book in the late 15th century to give a background as to why the Separatists felt the need to relocate. Then he moves into the actual journey across the ocean. And that is where I am right now in the book.

I will tell you more when I have read more! I do recommend the book on the basis of what I have read so far.

The kittens are growing quickly. They are eleven weeks now. One has moved on to his new home. I hope another goes this weekend, along with two more for a temporary home for three days. We need to have them out for three days and then take them back, so I am hoping my daughter can handle them for a few days.

This Friday is Derrick's birthday. He'll be 23! I can't believe he is already that old, although we do go to college together and he is my main ride! I still remember homeschooling him in kindergarten. That was our trial period. If it worked, he could be homeschooled. If it didn't, they would all go to public school. It did work and all were homeschooled for all except seven months in a private school. Now, we are down to only one still being homeschooled and the others in college. I think we made the right choice. All of them have come to me separately this past year and thanked me for not sending them to school. It makes me feel good to know that we made the right choice!
