Swim Lessons
Naomi Ruth started up her swimming lessons yesterday. She was very nervous before the class started. She took right to it, though, and absolutely loved it. She was kind of testing it out for the rest of the children. After her rave reviews, we now have Thomas, Rebekah, and Hannah signed up for Level 1 swimming classes next month and Naomi Ruth is signed up for Level 2. They are all super excited. In the meantime, Naomi Ruth has her class Mon-Thurs all of this week and next. At the end of yesterday's class, the instructor asked if anyone was brave enough to put their head all the way under the water. She was one of the few who did it. Now, we just need to get the chlorine level right in our pool here at home, so she can actually practice what she's learning AND we can all enjoy it.
Kelly, you asked me what the Charlotte Mason method of education is. It is a literature and real-life based way of homeschooling. We use lots of living books. Lessons are kept short. We include things like nature study and art appreciation. It is wonderful! I'm going to direct you to the blog of my friend, Cindy Rushton, where she wrote a WONDERFUL piece on what the Charlotte Mason method is. You'll need to skim down a bit.
