Living Life Abundantly
Thank you to everyone who is praying for Susanna and for our family. Thank you for your notes of encouragement here and for your emails to me! You all are really blessing me!
I don't know about you all, but a lot of times there are things that I want to do, but just don't get around to - either ever or at least for a long time. Well, the events on Friday has got me looking at life a bit differently and it is a good thing. I am now actively choosing to life life abundantly. For quite some time, we have discussed getting pets for the children - someday. Saturday, we got them 2 bunnies and 2 kittens. The children are SO happy!
We get almost all of our clothes, shoes, etc. second hand, so sometimes even though we really want something, we don't get it because I can't find it used. Well, Rebekah and Hannah have sandals, but the rest of us didn't. Thomas and I went to WalMart together yesterday and we bought Miriam, Naomi Ruth, and Thomas each a pair, plus a pair for me. :-D They were only around $10 each and you should have seen the delight on Miriam and Naomi Ruth's faces this morning when they saw their new shoes! Oh, it was so worth it! Thomas and I also had an absolutely fabulous time on that outing. We talked the whole way and it was one of the best times together we've ever had. Wonder how much of that was me just acutely living in the moment....
This house has a wonderful above ground pool that we have been trying to get ready for the last few weeks. We keep tweaking the amount of chlorine and the amount of Ph in it and vacuuming out the bottom and scooping out leaves, etc. (It was NASTY when we moved in back in Feb.) Well, today it got up to 95 degrees and I tested the water saw that the chlorine was too high, the Ph was too low, and I could see some leaves still sitting in the middle of the bottom of the pool. I thought for a minute and then told the children to put on their bathing suits. Today was the day! We had SUCH a wonderful time together playing in the pool! Another thing delaying us was that we didn't have swimming suits for Hannah and Miriam yet. That wasn't stopping me any longer! Hannah had fun in the water in a t-shirt with pj bottoms and Miriam was just in her slip and diaper (water balloon!!!!!!!!!! - need some swim diapers!).
We are so enjoying life together and are making sweet memories. What about you? Are you choosing to life your life abundantly?
In closing, I want to share with you the words to another hymn, "Living By Faith." I've been singing this one all of yesterday and today.
Love, Dawn
"Living By Faith"
I care not today what the morrow may bring,
If shadow or sunshine or rain,
The Lord I know ruleth o'er everything,
And all of my worry is vain.
Chorus:
Living by faith, in Jesus above,
Trusting, confiding in His great love;
From all harm safe in His sheltering arm,
I'm living by faith and feel no alarm.
Tho' tempests may blow and the storm-clouds arise,
Obscuring the brightness of life,
I'm never alarmed at the overcast skies,
The Master looks on at my strife.
(Chorus)
I know that He safely will carry me thru,
No Matter what evils betide,
Why should I then care tho' the tempest may blow,
If Jesus walks close to my side.
(Chorus)
Our Lord will return to this earth some sweet day,
Our troubles will then all be o'er,
The Master so gently will lead us away,
Beyond that blest heavenly shore.
(Chorus) |
