Exciting News about the Adoption

Posted in Adoption
I'm excited to finally have good news to share here!  Sarah and Samuel are now in the court process over in Liberia.  We are delighted to learn that things are progressing along with the adoption!

Brief update on Susanna:
1) Her big day of doctor appointments is next Thursday, July 19th.
2) We just learned yesterday that her small optic nerve tumor is in fact a slow growing cancerous brain tumor.
For more info, go to www.caringbridge.org/visit/susannahall.  Thank you to all who are praying for her!

Love, Dawn

Jul. 18, 2007 - Praying for Susanna and your family

Posted by Anonymous
Dear Dawn,
I was getting very frustrated not being able to sign the guestbook on Susanna's site on CaringBridge so was happy when Lynn said I could contact you here. Lynn told me about Susanna a week ago today and I have been checking on her daily and praying very frequently for her and you. I felt an instant kinship with you for several reasons. You mentioned Isaiah 41:10 which is probably the first verse I turn to when I begin to feel fearful and also 'How Firm a Foundation' is one of my favorites. Another hymn I love at such times is 'In Thee, Lord, have I Put My Trust' which you may very possibly be familiar with but in case you are not, here are some of the verses: (Based on Psalm 31:1-5)

In Thee, Lord, have I put my trust;
Leave me not helpless in the dust,
Let me not be confounded.
Let in thy Word
My Faith, of Lord.
Be always firmly grounded.

Bow down Thy gracious ear to me
And hear my cries and prayers to Thee,
Haste Thee for my protection;
For woes and fear
Surround me here.
Help me in mine affliction.

Thou art my Strength, my Shield, my Rock,
My Fortress that withstands each shock,
My Help, my Life, my Treasure.
Whate'er the rod,
Thou art my God;
Naught can resist Thy pleasure.

With Thee, Lord, have I cast my lot;
O faithful God, forsake me not,
To Thee my soul commending.
Lord, be my Stay,
Lead Thou the way
Now and when life is ending.

All honor, praise, and majesty
To Father, Son,and Spirit be,
Our God forever glorious,
In whose rich grace
We'll run our race
Till we depart victorious.

Perhaps some other time I will tell you some other reasons I feel a real kinship with you but for now the important thing is Susanna and what you will find out tomorrow. I will be praying hard for hopeful news, if it be God;s will, and strength and courage for you. "I can do all things through Christ which strengtheneth me." Phil. 4:13

Love in Christ,
