Just Catching Up
Hey guys! Sorry I haven't wrote anything in a while. I have just been busy.
It was 60 degrees here in Indiana yesterday! It was soo nice to get outside with out a coat on! I walked my dogs around the whole neighborhood 6 times! Also on Monday (2 days ago) my mom took me, my 3 siblings, and four of our friends who are also all siblings to go hiking! It was awesome! All though, there was mud everywhere and we were slipping and falling. It was funny! We took this trail that was on the edge of a big hill and the trail was kind of tilted down so we were slipping and falling and holding onto trees and stuff. We took that trail on purpose though. We wanted to do it the hard way. haha.
I made a video of us on the trail but that was torward the end and we weren't slipping as much and it wasn't as steep. But, if you would like to see it, here is the link: Hiking through the mud

Writing a speech about laughing
Hey Everyone!
I am doing some research on laughing and found some interesting facts about laughing. But first, your probably wondering why I am doing that. I am in a speech class with Training For Triumph. Training For Triumph (TFT) is a home school program ran by Ray and Donna Reish. They teach classes on most subjects. I have taken writing with them and now I am taking speech. Our teacher is Joshua Reish. He is the oldest child of Ray and Donna Reish and a home school graduate.
So, anyway, in this class we go once a week and Joshua tells us what type of speech he wants us to do. We just started doing this class so we have only done 2 speeches. The first one was on anything we wanted to do. I chose dance for my topic. The second we were to write a persuasive speech which is trying to get someone to do somnething. I wrote mine on getting a facebook. haha. Well, this week we are to write a informative speech which is just telling people information on something.
Since we can do it on anything we want, I chose laughing. I love to laugh and I laugh a lot! I just got back from a youth group retreat and my stomach muscles hurt so bad because I laughed almost constatly for 2 whole days!! I am not being sarcastic! (which I can do a lot) haha, i just had soo much fun there. So, anyway, since I can't cough or sit up...or laugh, with out the word "ow" or saying "ugh" because of laughing so much I figured I would do my speech on laughing. I was looking up some facts about laughing and found that are some quite interesting things to know about laughing! (other then it making your stomach hurt really bad if you laugh to much)
Here are some facts I found so far:
-Aside from improving our moods, laughter can reduce stress, help fight infection, and reduce pain.
-Laughter releases anger, fear, guilt, anxiety and tension
-Laughter causes positive changes in brain chemistry by releasing endorphins, and it brings more oxygen into the body with the deeper inhalations.
-Laughter encourages concentration on "right" attitudes rather than "wrong" attitudes.
-Researchers found after watching an hour-long video of slapstick comedy that the "natural killer cells," which seek out and destroy malignant cells, more actively attacked tumor cells in test tubes. And these effects lasted up to 12 hours.
-Laughter is not only a simple response to comedy; laughter is a hidden language we all speak that binds people together. Smiling, laughing and tickling might have evolved to create bonds between babies and parents. Laughter is a series of short vowel-like syllables usually transcribed as "ha-ha," "ho-ho" or "hee-hee." These syllables are part of the universal human vocabulary, produced and recognized by people of all cultures.

About Me
Hello, my name is Hannah Honn. I am 13 years old. And obviously I homeschool. ;-) Well, through out the 13 yeas of my life there is a lot to tell. But, the first thing I would ever want anyone to know about me is that I have a strong relation ship with God. I became a Christian when I was about 4 or 5. I am not afraid to tell people that I am a Christian because I do not find anything embarrassing about that. Jesus is my BFF! :)
I have been dancing in a dance ministry called Restored to Glory (RTG) for 10 years. If it wasn't for RTG I probably would not be as close to God as I am now. Restored to Glory is a great place to dance at! The ministry is owned by Peggy Alberda. All the outfits are modest and all the dances are always focused on God and never like, jerking your hips around or anything like that There are about 150 dancers! We have a big performance in either April or May every year. I have made LOTS of wonderful friend ships there and if you are interested in dancing I highly recommend Restored to Glory! :-)
I also like to act! For three years I was performed in a program for homeschoolers called Academy Of Arts. They go around to different states and stay there for a week and put on a children's play. A few months in advance they have you try out and figure out what kid has what part. Then once they have the cast ready, they bring in the team to direct the play. The directors they have on their team are so nice! They have a week to practice with the kids and all the kids come everyday for about 5 hours. The plays are always good! Exspecily for when they did it all in a week! I only did the elementary plays but there are plays for high schoolers too. Those are vary good! Academy of Arts is a good way for kids to start out in acting! Everyone who trys out gets in the play, they may not get a speaking part but they sure do get to be in the choir! Academy of Arts teaches you how to project and some vary good tips on acting. Academy of Arts is how I got my talent of acting!
Now, I didn't just stop acting there! I am currently in a drama team called All For One (afO). I LOVE this program! It is also for homeschoolers. This is my first year in this program. But I am definitely going to do it next year! There is 11 kids in this team and we go around to schools and perform. We have two plays. One is called Queen Bee and that play is about bullying. It teaches kids how to stop someone from bullying you and why bullies do what they do. The second one is called Character Counts. This play is about teaching kids not to cheat and to be honest and respectful of others. I play the part of Stephanie in Queen Bee and the part of Mrs. Johnson in Character Counts. afO had given me lots more of great friend ships and has caused me extend my talent and projection in acting.
I was also in The Nutcracker Ballet in 2008 with Fort Wayne Ballet. It turns out as long as you are in some kind of dance classes you are aloud to try out. So, I did, and I made it! I made the part as a Soldier. It was vary fun to perform and get to see how everything works with make-up and costumes and stage effects. I made a few friends there and already knew two girls that where in it. In fact, one of them I knew is one of my best friends. I am not sure if I will do The Nutcracker again this year but it was defantly a wonderful thing to be in for at least one time!
Well, those are some things about me and I hope to be blogging a lot to give you updates of what I am doing in the homeschool programs. I tend to really get into something and then just get bored of it and stop, but, I think I will enjoy this for a while. Hope to blog soon! :)
