Carolona Wren Spotted!

I could not get a photo of my Carolina Wren, but was able to find this one doing a Google search. Our Wren does not come around very often and never stays very long and he is always alone. I have never seen a Carolina Wren until this winter. It was great fun discovering this new bird and persevering while trying to identify it. I so love love my Peterson Field Guide and Whatbird.com. I hope to add to my field guide collection soon. I'd love to have ones on Eastern wildflowers and trees.

Persevere when you are trying to identify an animal or plant. The effort is worth it.

Hey girl, thats a really nice pic, even if you didnt take it yourself... I had a nice laugh though of your cat on your other blog with his head in the Fish bowl. Anyhow DD is really excited to get this Nature blog rolling so much so she took an old Easter Seals Calander that was full of Flower months and turned it into a Nature book for her to use...all on her own accord, with her excitment I am hoping we can get out a lil bit and see whats happening in our neck of the woods even though...Its a bit over cast and down today, sometimes I guess the best time to see Nature in action is to be out there at all sorts of times rain or shine..

What a beautiful bird! Wonderful that you were able to identify it to :) We have been giggling around here watching the jays doing acrobatics and dive bombs outside our window trying to get what is left in our pomelo feeder *grin* Very entertaining!

Way to go! It is so exciting to get to identify a new bird you've never seen. I can't say that I have ever been able to spot a Carolina Wren. I thought today I may have seen a woodpecker that I hadn't seen before, but it flew away before I could get a good look at it.
