Yesterday, we finally caught a glimpse of our little hummingbird friends. Now, we must remember to keep the feeder filled with fresh nectar. (Note to self.) This is similar to what we saw, a female, but I am not 100% sure ours is a Ruby Throated. I have never seen a male at our feeders. Usually we will see a couple females who dart about and fight over the feeder. No sharing with these birds!
I saw our first hummingbird April 30 on the blooms of our brandywine crabapple! It took me a few days to get our feeders out, but now they are buzzing around everywhere! I got a quick pic of him the other day, stop by my blog and take a look!
Welcome to my happy little place to learn about the study of nature and all things beautiful. This is my personal nature journal, where I hope to record my fledgling journey as a naturalist and my appreciation for the Master Gardener's creation. I will also display some of my favorite paintings and list some of my favorite living books and quotes. I hope you will enjoy your visit.
