May. 14, 2008 - The Squirrel Trap!
This is just something we do when we get bored. It is the most simple trap-Take a long piece of fishing string, a milk crate, a weight, and a stick.
I think most people know how it works, and probably have made one. (no need to explain)
The squirrels will only chew the plastic when they are left in, when you catch one it is a GOOD IDEA to quickly get out to it or it will chew the plastic on the milk crate. (It doesn't have to be a milk crate, MANY other things work better. This is just what we had at hand.)

(WISE) run the string through a window or door so they cant see you.
(BAIT) the bait is simple, PEANUTS, or a pile of bird seed.
The birds love it to, but we DON'T CATCH THE LITTLE BIRDS anymore because if the trap falls on them it can KILL them. SO DON'T.
DUCKS on the other hand! LOL
WELL THERE YOU HAVE IT.

I only hope Noah doesn't see that, My mom doesnt want him going around trying to catch squirrels..., what do you do when they bite you? lol.
For instance today Andrew decided to use the LANDLORD's nice birdbath as a baseball tee. He hit the bat right into it and its now in a couple hundred pieces (yes a little bit of exaggeration). Goodness the boys dont need any encouragement with things like that!!!!!
Well that was interesting anyway, good pictures.
Talk to you later- Jordan

Ahahahahaha! That looks like SO much fun!!! :D
I would love to trap a squirrel!!! I loath them! When I lived in CT, we had them in our attic and they would run though our walls at night and make lots of racket, so we finally had to get a guy to trap them!! You can't imagine how annoying it is to hear squirrels running around in the walls above you, at 9:30pm, when you have to get up at seven the next morning, and your only ten! One squirrel actually cheewd a whole in the ceiling of our bathroom! :o

I FINALLY got to your blog. Bwahahah! Power!
The address that Jordo sent me wouldn't work. Now I've got you from one of the other kids blogs. Heeheehee.
Anyway, cool trap. A little primitive of course, but we'll excuse you for that. My younger brother (you'll know which one) once had both a squirrel and a cardinal in one trap feeding at the same time. The squirrel got mad and attacked the cardinal. The poor thing only lasted for two days before it died. ( the cardinal, not the squirrel)
D. recently built a type of box trap out of plywood and what-not. He caught the same cat twice. (Among other things as well.) He made a smaller version and caught three mice. Two of them are still alive. :-)
Over and out.

Thank you, I really enjoy photography.
Those are cute pictures of the birds. Ever since we got our bird, I've liked to bird-watch. They're such sweet creatures (well, most of them).
Blessings,
