In His Time

• Sep. 21, 2008 - Grandfather and Grandchildren

My two grown daughters, my ds, and I went on a two week trip to Japan.   We visited my family members the first week and went on a tour of Japan the following week.

When people ask me what did I enjoy about the trip I say the tea ceremony by a graceful old lady at the Tea Museum and the hotspings in Hakone with the beautiful view of Mt. Fuji.  But of all the things we've done and seen, I have to say the most memorable thing was to be able to see my thin 83 year old father talking,  laughing, and interacting with his grandchildren with broken Japanese English.  It was precious.  God is so good!!!

God bless my aging father...  If you are moved to pray for my father to come to know Jesus Christ as his Savior, I'd appreciate it.      doumo arigatou!

• May. 10, 2008 - My First Entry and Happy Pentecost!

This is my first entry!  It's actually showing on my blog! I am still trying to figure out how to add entry and edit this and that.  Whew!

Our family just came back from the first city-wide Pentecost Celebration sponsored by Awareness Ministry http://www.awarenessministry.org   What an insightful time we had learning about the Day of Pentecost in Acts and in the O.T. also known as Feast of Weeks (Shavuot in Jewish,  also known as Feast of Harvest ) in Lev. 23.

After Israelites went through Passover, it is said that on the Feast of Weeks time, The Ten Commandments were given to Moses on Mount Sinai.  During the Feast of Weeks, the Jews read the Book of Ruth. Oh, I love this story!  Gentile widow, Ruth, gets redeemed by a kind Jewish man, Boaz (Christ like character), and together they bear a son, Obed, who becomes grandfather of King David.  Is this a great foreshadow of  Jews and Gentiles (nations) worshipping together in Messiah one day or what?

In the N .T. , the Holy Spirit fell on those who gathered in the upper room in Jerusalem 50 days after the resurrection of Jesus Christ.  This is known as Pentecost (fifty in Greek) which is the Feast of Weeks in the O.T. (Lev. 23:16).  Is God's timing awesome or what?

We had a wonderful worship and at the end we prayed in one accord asking God to unite believers in our city and to be anointed with the Holy Spirit for the harvest in the area of great commision, strengthening marriages and families, meeting the needs of the poor and oppressed, filling with His knowledge in education and for the next generation, keeping integrity in government, businesses, and workplaces, any area we are called to work with Him for His glory.

May you be anointed with the Holy Spirit to bring forth the harvest in your ministry (especially, homeschooling).

      Happy Pentecost!

About Me

Greetings, brothers and sisters! I am an ESL homeschooling mom from Japan who has come a long way (both physically and spiritually). I have two grown daughters and a ds whom I homeschool. I thank the Lord for American Christians who have patiently shared the Word of God and showed the love of Christ to me. I hope to share our homeschooling life and make new friends all over the world to His glory!
