Jan. 25, 2006 - Fun Picture Time
Our friend Trenton drew this awesome picture of Travis and me for our wedding. Didn't he do a great job?!
He even got Trav's strong nose and eyebrows, and my gum-showing, toothy smile right!
I'll post some more fun ones of us in the days ahead... Do any of you have some fun pictures of yourselves
you wouldn't mind sharing? Ohhhhhhh, c'mon... they don't have to be embarrassing... Just fun!

Jan. 16, 2006 - Peculiar Confessions...

I will never understand why my husband ALWAYS, without fail, beats me at at every single game we play together!! And I am soooo NOT kidding. Even in the chance games, where skill doesn't matter, he still creams me! The funny thing is, he is not competitive at all, unlike me.... I actually become emotionally invested in my fate during the game. And yet, he continues to win. At Clue, Scrabble, Skip-Bo, Stratego, Dominoes, Sorry -- all of them. *sigh* This is one of life's biggest mysteries to me...
The only time I can ever beat him is when we play Nerts and occasionally UNO or Wa-Hoo. But at everything else...I'm simply at his mercy.

Myklin's Peculiar Confession Number 2:
I have to use something until it is COMPLETELY gone. For example, I will squeeze and squeeze on the toothpaste bottle for days after it's been essentially all used up, just to get the last tiny little bit of toothpaste out of there!
The same goes for hair gel or lotion... I will also use something until it is totally TOAST. Like this curling iron I had for the longest time that had a broken spring. So then every time I used it, the clamp barely held my hair in and it took me twice as long to fix my hair. I finally got rid of the silly thing and decided to get a new one when it quit getting hot. *grin* My word, how cheap can I get??! *laughing* Myklin's Peculiar Confession Number 3:
I must always have have a glass or bottle of water in my hand, or at least have access to some not very far away. I crave water all day long and have to drink it at every single meal.
Yes, at every single meal!

I am totally obsessive about keeping a tidy car interior. TOTALLY. I cannot seem to relax and go on when there is any kind of trash in my car. Travis teases me about my little "routine" whenever I stop the car and am getting ready to go into the house. I immediately start looking around on the floor, behind the seats, and all over to find and pick up any trash before I leave the car and go inside the house. I can't seem to just pick up my purse and walk inside the house like a normal person!
This one in particular baffles me... I don't understand why I do this, especially considering the fact that it is so unlike Myklin, the never-care-about-details-person that I truly am. Perhaps somewhere deep inside of me I secretly wish to be a perfectionist and this is just the only way I can manifest that desire. Ehhhh, but then again, maybe not.
Oh please tell me there are others out there with peculiar confessions of their own as well!!

Dec. 21, 2005 - Tagged!
I've been TAGGED!
My friend Natalie is the tagger... That means I get to answer all of these fun questions now. Thanks, Nat!
So here we go...
Seven things I hope to do before I die:
1. Earn a bachelor's degree

2. See the ocean!! (Any ocean would do... I'm not picky.)
3. Visit the New England area

4. Become a mother and raise my children to be men and women of GOD
5. Write another book

6. Develop a truly selfless spirit
7. Learn how to demonstrate Christ-like LOVE in all areas of my life
Seven things I cannot do well: (what? ...only room for 7?
)1. Whistle (let's just say I can't do this one AT ALL!)
2. Stop smiling (Photographers ask me to do serious photos sometimes, but alas! ... It simply cannot be done.
)3. Play a song the way it's written (My piano teachers HATED this about me!
*grin* I can follow rhythms pretty well... they're just the ones in my own head - not on the paper! *hanging head shamefully*) 4. Play any kind of sports well! (Do you want to feel good about yourself? Challenge me to some football, basketball, baseball, volleyball or any other kind of outdoor sport you can think of! *LOL* What can I say?
I'm just a writer/artisty kind of girl! )5. Play a card game or board game quietly (I'm sorry ya'll... I just get too excited as I'm trying to win...)
6. Read a book through from start to finish without skipping ahead (This is an AWFUL fault I have of jumping all around a book, catching the highlights and best parts before I actually take the time to sit down and read the whole thing form cover to cover. Aren't I a terrible person? I mean... who does that?! )
7. Play a joke on someone without laughing and saying immediately "I'm just kidding!" (Well, there was only one time that I managed to pull off a little joke and it was on my awesome friends Natalie and Nicole... Do you girls remember that one? I think the only reason that one worked was because it was over e-mail and not face-to-face! *LOL*)
Seven things that attract me to my husband: (again, only 7?!
)1. His humility
2. His strength of character and integrity
3. His ability to stand alone and not cave in to pressure
4. His big happy smile and contagious laughter
5. The way he makes people feel so good about themselves by being such a great listener and friend
6. His wisdom beyond his years
7. His AMAZING good looks!!

Seven things I say often:
1. "I LOVE YOU!" (Guess who hear THIS the most? *dreamy sigh*)
2. "Good grief" (This one I stole from Travis...)
3. "Crummy" (Um...another stolen one from my hubby!)
4. "Can I make you some lemonaid?" (Trav's favorite beverage of all time! *smile*)
5. "Uhhhh," (I really need to break myself of saying this one...)
6. "Oh mah WORD!" (Said like a true southern woman...
)7. "Hmmm, I was going to tell you something, but now I can't remember what it was..." (A life long forgetfulness problem that I am working on a cure for!)
Seven authors, books or series I love:
1. Psalms - King David mostly
2. Proverbs - King Solomon
3. Isaiah - The Prohpet Isaiah
4. Paul's Epistles
5. Just Like Jesus - Max Lucado
6. In His Steps - Charles M. Sheldon
7. A Call To Die - David Nasser (EXCELLENT!!!!)
Seven movies I watch over and over again:
1. Anne of Green Gables and Anne of Avonlea (I don't remember a time that I couldn't quote these movies!!
)2. It's a Wonderful Life (One of the best movies out there in my opinion! BTW, for those of you who are fans of the movie, check out this cute little link!)
3. White Christmas (with Danny Kay and Bing Crosby... It's tradition to watch this one EVERY December...)
4. The Quiet Man (with John Wayne and Maureen O'Hara... My grandpa has ALL of the John Wayne movies ever made so of course they rubbed off on me!)

5. Lord of the Rings (Yes - I admit it... I'm a fan.)
6. Cox Family Christmas home video 1989 (My brothers and me are so cute in this one... I have to watch it at least once a year!
)7. Walt Disney's Robin Hood cartoon (I absolutely LOVED this movie growing up! I still think it's pretty cute.)
Seven people I want to do this: (how about 3?)
1. Brittany
2. Susan
3. Jodi (I know you don't have a blog, but I still thought I'd tag you just for fun! *grin*)
Of course, no one has to do this just because I've tagged you... I'm not even sure if you all have already done this or not! Oh well, I just had to tag ya because you're all so sweet.
I hope and pray everyone is doing well and that the Lord is blessing you all this week!!! May you always keep your eyes on Him....
Take Care!
