Hey everyone

Purity Conference
Yesterday was incredible, My friends Colleen, Tayva, Brenna and Kendra, went to a wonderful purity Conference called "Pure Freedom".
I had a wonderful time, the girls and guys were seperated into their own groups which made it better because it made you a bit more comfortable.
All of the girls were presented with a wonderful book, (reccomended to all teenage girls out there) 'And the Bride Wore White," by Dannah Gresh
.  It's a wonderful book, it talks about Sexual Purity.
Well one of the first things we did was, practice and name off some comebacks we should use if a guy is pressuring you to go a little bit further. We had fun, some of the comebacks we came up with were:
1. Are those the same hands you pray with?
2. This is NOT Burger King, and you CANNOT have it your way.
3. This ain't Pizza Hut, so you just keep AWAY from the good stuff.
4. I am like a museum, just keep looking.
5. My Daddy dusts me for fingerprints every time I come back from a date!

It was so fun!  Some other things we talked about were Modesty, and how we should check ourselves to make sure we are protecting our bodies from watchful eyes, because our beauty is only meant for one man to see.
Most of the girls in the whole group, laid their earthly idols down at God's feet. I was one of them, we all got a small piece of paper, and wrote down what was keeping us from keeping a steady walk with the Lord.
Just imagine, taking your idol, and when the time comes you (in slow motion)  hold your hand out, and drop the idol down at God's feet. You turn around, without a worry, and knowing you will be given something better. JESUS. I mean how incredible is that? God touched lives yesterday, and it was awesome.  I want to be able to do that one day, it's just so powerful.
Anyway-- we had so much fun with this part, all of the girls got to share what we wanted our husbands to be like, dream like, look like.. etc. It was SO MUCH FUN!
Oh yeah, get this, before the conference, the guys were pretty rude, not extremely, they just acted like.. boys.
But afterwards,  the guys were really nice! they were holding doors for us, saying thank you, excuse me, please.. etc.
It was so cool!
Anyways.. I need to go now, Talk to you all later.

Homesick

Homesick

Today has been very sad, I have been thinking alot about my old church (more like my home). All I can remember is that church, everything that ever happened to me that i treasure and value,  lead all of my thoughts back to the little building on the mountain.
My mom found me lying on my bed today, crying because i had been listening to a song that has my state name in it, that i used to sing in My church's choir.
It's not just a church building, with people who attend services, it feels like I left my Home and Family.

I know this may sound a little dramatic, and emotional, but if you were in my position you would know how I'm feeling. Sometimes I question God, about why he couldn't just give me a little bit more time to be with my friends and everything I've already left behind. It's not fair for someone, who knows they have to give up something later on, to have to give it up before they absolutely have to. Some time ago my sister said to me, "Don't cry because it's over, smile because it happened." After I had been complaining about something, this is such a good quote to remember, but i feel like I just can't let go.

It's so hard, everything happened there, I remember my baptism, (The first day I accepted Christ, I remember it so clearly!) I remember Mission trip dinners, I remember going to Children's Church, I remember easter sunrise services, I remember going with my youth group all over over our mountain selling God's Creation New Year calendars (IN the Snow!!!), literally every memory that means so much to me still, lives in the Church. There is no Other Church like mine.
I will never forget it.

So long, farewell, to you my friend, good bye for now until we meet again, it's been great to pray and sing together, in the the church, and now it's time to say good bye. So long, farewell, to you my friend, good bye for now until we meet again.

Don'tcha just hate choices? Especially ones that could
change your life?
The choice that I struggle to make isn't life changing,
 but I could use some
prayer.
Some times, you make choices that turn into mistakes,
but if you make mistakes you learn from them. But you
also
don't want to make mistakes, because it could
destroy a friendship, a family, or a relationship.. It's so confusing..
I wish I could know all the answers, but that's not my place.
I guess God doesn't want us to know everything because
what he wants us to know is that he's laying out our lives
the way he wants it, and he will explain everything to us when
we meet him face to face.
God makes our choices because, he knows what's best for us.
Jeremiah 29:11--
"For I know the plans I have for you," declares the Lord.
"Plans that are for good, and not disaster, plans that will give
you a hope and a future."

John 14:1--
"Don't be troubled. You trust God, now trust in me.
There are many rooms in my Father's home, and
I am going to prepare a place for you.
If it were not so, I would tell you plainly."

wow

Ok, yesterday was so Incredible, it seemed like some of the time you just don't even notice the beauty of our surroundings.
Yesterday, I went to a friend's house to watch a really good Anime movie called, "Howl's Moving Castle," it was AWESOME! (but that's not my MOST favorite part)
We watched it with my friends, Willy, Stephanie, John, Mikeala, and Tayva, afterwards we went on the most awesome hike ever!
We started out at the river, and walked until we found a little stream in the woods with a huge dirt wall. There was vines and stuff all over the dirt so you could grab and climb up.
As soon as we reached the top, it didn't even seem like we were at the river anymore! It was a huge, hot field! so we kept walking along until we found another part of the woods and there were HUGE rocks to climb! we climbed all the way to the top, and we could see EVERYTHING below! The river, the mountains, people in their boats, now I know what people mean when they are so high up they feel alot closer to God!
We kept on going, climbing, walking, running, we got way higher! Kendra, Stephanie, and I were the slow-pokes, we just loved to look all around, talk, and smell everything!
We found More Rocks even bigger than the ones before, and they were all in a huge circle, Mikeala, Willy, and Tayva, were the only ones that were brave enough to climb and jump from rock to rock. I got alot of exercise, and It was just plain incredible, I would love to do it again. Oh yeah..
Well i need to go get ready to go to my youth group,
Talk to you later!

(Ps. I'll try to get pics from Stephanie!)

Bad Day

Ok.. I had a really bad day, lots of things happened to me. Well.. I was sitting down on the computer checking my e-mail, and looking at my last post to see if I had gotten any comments.
My Brother was watching a movie in my living room, and he was playing with his pocket knife that a friend gave to him just this morning.
He was dancing to a song on the video, and had the knife in his hand. Well he twirled at one point and accidentally let go of the knife, it opened up (it's one of those loose blades.. that don't actually close when you push the blade back into place..) and it swung and hit my arm. I had an inch of my skin opened up and it was bleeding.
I woke my Poor Mom up from her sleep, and told her what had happened. She immediately took aid to my arm and wrapped it in gauze.
We called up a couple friends to see if they could give us a ride to the hospital, it wasn't all that bad, but what we were worrying about was that if we didn't it stitched back together, it could get infected (and I haven't had a tetanus shot since I was 5..).
So a friend took us to the hospital, and we waited in a germ infested area for like 2 hours, until our turn was up.
We finally got in a room and waited for another hour, until the doctor could see us.
Well she gave me ten numbing shots around my wound, and it hurt SOO BAD!
She gave me five stitches, and we waited for ten minutes so that I could get a tetanus shot.
Didn't hurt too bad, but now my arm is REALLY sore!!
Once again, I'm thanking God that it wasn't as bad as it could've been.
Painfully and Thankfully, Kaitlyn
(PS. Yes My brother is being punished, he has to have spankings and
he is not being trusted with a weapon such as, gun, knife.. etc.. for a very long time)
Thanks Mom, and Lizbeth!

Lyrics

This is the song,
'This is your time"

It was a test we could all hope to pass But none of us would want to take.
Faced with the choice to deny God to live, For her, there was one
choice to make.

This was her time. this was her dance. She lived every moment; left nothing to chance.
She swam in the sea; drank of the deep; Embraced the mystery of all she could be.

This was her time...

Though you are mourning and grieving with us, Death died a long time ago;
Swallowed in life so that life carries on. Still it’s so hard to let go.

This was her time. this was her dance. She lived every moment; left nothing to chance.
She swam in the sea; drank of the deep; Embraced the mystery of all she could be.

What if tomorrow, and what if today, Faced with the question,
Oh what would you say?

This is your time. this is your dance. Live every moment. leave nothing to chance.
Swim in the sea. drink of the deep. Follow the mercy and hear yourself praying.

Won’t you save me?
Won’t you save me?

This is your time. this is your dance. Live every moment. leave nothing to chance.
Swim in the sea. drink of the deep. Embrace the mystery of all you can be.

This is your time. this is your dance. Live every moment. leave nothing to chance.
Swim in the sea. drink of the deep. Embrace the mystery of all you can be.

This is your time...
(won’t you save me? )
(this is your time)
(won’t you save me? )

Howdy from Texas 2

Hey people, everything has been good so far. Yesterday my family went to my Uncle Pete, and Aunt Sylvia’s house. My aunt Sylvia is an Awesome cook, I’ll tell you what she had cooked up for us, dinner and dessert.

For dinner we had, a mix of Pork, green beans, and potatoes which was really good! With some kind of beans, and fresh corn bread!

Then for dessert she made some wonderful Peach Cobbler, with some ice cream on the side. It was a great dinner.

Last night Kendra, Kullen and I, went to the cheap theatre that my Dad used to go to when he was a kid, we saw, Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire, again. It’s too bad that they are just now playing it. But it’s really cheap, $1.50 for a ticket.

I think I can gladly say that I don’t want to watch any TV for a while after this, there hasn’t been one day on this whole trip that my brother hasn’t gotten me to sit down and watch a “funny part” on Tom and Jerry.

We have been having some really cold weather lately! Everyone back where I live told me that I need to be prepared for heat! So I packed a lot of light clothes.. now I’m wearing my coat everywhere! Hehe. Don’t get me wrong, there IS heat.

My Dad was looking through his old stuff yesterday, and found two awesome things, one was his old Air Force Badge, and the other was his old Air Force Ring! I love that ring, it’s silver with a big blue diamond looking thing in the middle. On the top it says UNITED STATES AIR FORCE, and on one side it shows a picture of an Airplane, and in small letters it says GUARDIAN OF PEACE. On the other side it has a picture of an eagle with stars all around it. It’s so cool, whenever my dad tries to put it on now, his whole finger turns purple! Whenever I put it on, it falls off.

My Popa’s Condition is fine right now, we haven’t found out what the results are from the biopsy yet, but he’s doing pretty good.

I would like everyone back home to know that I miss them so much! I wish you guys could be here, you’d love it.

Do you ever get that feeling, like when you hear a really touching song you have tingles and goose bumps everywhere? That happened to me the day before yesterday, we were just sitting in the car, on the way to Fast food, and the song, I think “This was her time”, about Cassie Bernall, came on and I started to cry, that was a wonderful song. It made me have a feeling that I needed to do the same, that I needed to display the affection and love I have for Christ no matter what stood in my way. I really want to be like that. But being human, we all have our, “excuses” and “reasons,” to remain silent, I think we need to change that. Or at least I do.

I wish I could think of more stuff to tell you, but I’m getting real tired. So I’ll go now, keep praying. Talk to you all later,

~ Love Kaitlyn

Howdy From Texas

Hey there everyone! We are here in Texas, and I Love it! It’s so big, everything is. When I look at everything here, the houses, the people, the view, my family, I told myself, this is my home, this is where God wants me to be.

Papa is incredible! He loves to talk to us, and spend time with us. He always makes sure we are comfortable and satisfied.

Memaw is the same way, she loves to talk to us about when Dad was little, makes sure that we are safe. (Example : “Kullen don’t be running around outside with them matches!”)

Anyway, we have cousins too, Adrienne, Caleb, and Austin. Austin is close to Kendra and my age. He’s so fun! He skate boards, jokes, (he likes N.D.) he even sings in front of us!

Oh my Gosh yesterday Austin, Kendra, and I, went down this road past our Grandparent’s house, and Austin showed us this burnt down (SMALL) house. This house is where Austin skate boards, because of a huge concrete dip.

Well, we found a lot of stuff, 2 doors, bathroom cleaner, rocks, broken concrete, rusted metal, sticks, long metal pipes… etc.

Well if you know the Forsythe family kids, you should know where this leads! Austin is just like us, because when we saw this, we got rocks, and he laid the doors against the concrete!!! Kendra and Austin took the long metal pipe and plunged it into the doors! They were CRUSHED!! And I took to the beating right away, I took those rocks, and I took the rusted metal and I threw!! It was so fun. He’s coming back next week and we are going to do it again, and we are going to take pictures so I can post them on here.

This might not sound very fun, but it WAS!!

Dad also took us around and showed us some his old stuff. We found a diaper pin that my Memaw used on dad when he was a baby!

Dad took us shooting in the back field with my Papa’s .22 and we shot at a target, it was hard trying to focus and aim the glass on what you wanted.
We found a lot of stuff, like my Mom and Dad’s old car, my Dad’s first bike and stuff (lol).

Oh my.. I forgot to mention my Uncle Robert! (my papa’s brother) He’s so funny! He has a lot of dogs, and he likes to talk about what my Dad did when he was little, he even told us that Dad set a whole Forest on fire! He was always running around with a rifle, matches, gas, you know.. (he he )

Well I will have to tell you a lot more later, there’s A LOT to tell! So good bye…

Be praying!

Love always,

Kaitlyn

Might be a while

Hey everyone, just wanted to tell you some stuff. Well my family found out that my Grandpa has a brain tombor. They knew something was wrong when he started to forget things like..  how to write 12.. he asked my Grandma if she knew where he put his cigarettes (even though he hasn't smoked in 40 years..) he's just forgotten a whole lot.
They took him to the hospital, and the doctors  gave my Grandpa a choice, to take brain surgery and live for six more months, or not take the surgery and live for only three more months. He said he didn't want the surgery because he didn't want to spend the last few months of his life trying to recover from surgery. Please pray that God will work a miracle in my Grandpa's life, to somehow cure him from his sickness.
I hardly know my Grandpa, I wanted to spend years with him in Texas learning about his life, our history, etc..  he said he'd show me his vegetable garden.
So we are flying to Texas tomorrow and staying there for 2 weeks.
I'll get to meet some of my relatives that I haven't seen since I was a baby.
Please just keep on praying. I really want to keep my Grandpa alot longer.
~ Kaitlyn
